1. 2022 InDesign bugs

   when using ID 2021 and before, When I sized a graphic, say, from 100 to 50%, the info box would say the graphic is now 50%. In ID 2022, when I reduce a graphic, the box says it is 100%. I am not liking this.

2. Layer visibility toggle should indicate mixed visibility status of sub layers

   InDesign V 16.4, Current Creative Cloud as of 2021-11-14.
   Currently - The top Layer visibility icon (within the layers palette) does not indicate a mixed visibility status of sub layers.
   I have a rather complex layer set in a document I'm working on where I have master pages with master pages based on other master pages and linked objects within the document.
   I just spent over an hour trying to locate a hidden object. I incorrectly assumed that, when looking at the layers palette, with all the layer stacks closed (layer list contracted where only the top level was shown) that the visibility icon would indicate there was mixed visibility of all layers within that stack or they would all be visible or all would be off.
   When a layer is visible you have an eye icon showing. If the layer is not visible there is nothing. If the layer has sub layers where some are visible and some are hidden each level above and within the same layer stack should have an icon like an eye with a cross out or an X, Therefore when the layer stack is closed you know some of it's sub layers may be visible and some maybe hidden. When the top layer visibility is toggled there are indications for the lower levels as to there independent status and that is great but it should work in reverse as well.
   This concept should also be carried out on the locking toggle as well.

3. [INDD 2020 and 2021] Document fonts folder does not work with fonts for placed SVGs

   Provide a font file with the Document fonts folder for a placed SVG graphic where the font is not embedded.
   RESULT: InDesign will not use the font for rendering text with the placed SVG graphic.

   ALSO: Even if the font is installed for ALL USERS in the system on Windows 10 InDesign will not package the font that is needed with the placed SVG graphic.

   One cannot be sure what fonts are needed with placed SVG graphics. When InDesign documents are saved, closed and re-opened, Preflight and Type > Find Fonts… will not show them.

   The only check you can do:
   Export the document to IDML. Open the IDML file as document.
   Then Preflight will show a needed font inside a placed SVG graphic and Preflight could flag it if it is missing.

   Well: The missing font installed in the Documents fonts folder could even block InDesign to access the same font that is installed for all users with:
   C:\WINDOWS\Fonts\

   To solve the issue you have to do THREE things:
   [1] Move the needed font for the placed SVG file out of the Document fonts folder
   [2] Install the font for ALL USERS
   [3] Quit and restart InDesign, only then open the document again. Otherwise you get a situation where the font could show as missing if it used in a text frame elsewhere in the document like [Lemon], but is rendered correctly in a text frame. 7. Weird Bug with Resize to Frame

   Resize frame to content messes up and I'm not sure if it's something to do with a setting I have set since this doesn't always happen.

   Basically, I'll have a frame around some content with text in it.

   When I hit "resize frame to content" ctrl-alt-c, it resizes the frame to the full document width, which looks like the example.

   I obviously expect the frame to resize to the content, not to be super wide like the entire document.

8. Linked PDF images not exporting to PDF correctly

   InDesign (16.2.1), Windows 10

   Logos saved as PDFs and placed in an InDesign file appear with a gray vertical line on the right side of the image frame when the file is converted to PDF. There is no stroke or fill on the image frame; further, I checked a PDF with the same PDF logo in it that I created a month ago and it did not have the line. The line appears when the PDF is printed.

   We found that reverting back to v16.1 resolved the issue. Also, relinking a JPG or TIF of the logo worked in 16.2.1, but obviously less efficient.

   InDesign (16.2.1), Windows 10

9. New Bug Indesign 16.2.1 | Contours conversion error (inside/outside aligned)

   This bug seems to only affect older InDesign documents and graphic elements from them that were created before the update to 16.2.1. The bug can NOT be reproduced in completely new 16.2.1 documents with newly created elements!

   What happens:
   For example, if you create a circle with the dimensions 200X200mm and a 10mm thick outline, this results in a circle with the dimensions
   210X210mm

   But if you now change the contour orientation from center to inside, the dimensions change unproportionally in height:

   Instead of 200 x 200 mm the circle becomes quasi
   an "egg" 200 x 199.999 mm

   If you now set the contour to 8mm, the element becomes proportional again.
   However: if the contour orientation is now changed again from
   "Aligned inside" to "Aligned outside", a conversion error happens again.

   Instead of the dimensions 216 x 216 mm
   the dimensions are now 216 x 215.999 mm.

   In these cases, the dimensions cannot be corrected by direct input in the control palette or by clicking on the arrow keys!!!!!

   If you enter 216 mm via direct input, 215.999 mm stubbornly appears.
   If you click on the arrow keys, nothing happens in the height value! But if you change the width value now, if you have coupled the proportions (by means of the lock)
   from 216 mm
   to 216.001 mm
   and with each desperate click further 216.002 mm;

    Problem: Line objects no longer have "frame edges" in the normal view! Lines without line thickness, white lines (which do not lie over a background), individual nodes are thus invisible in the layout!

    To find slipped lines again or to find several rest fragments like single nodes again becomes a patience and search game!

    The (line-) or frame edges appear only if you either select everything or if you move the mouse over the line or the single node randomly (mouseover). Simple is different!

15. issues with video content being supported from Indd output to viewabiity and interface as pdfs in acrobat

    make it so pdf's can have view-ability and functioning controler when exported from Indd. This used to work but has gone away. If you are phasing out flash please post a replacement. We dont all use digital videos linked from the internet and dont always have an internet connection.

16. Color profiles not working on 16 bit images

    When mounting 16 bit images the program always assigns the dokument profile.
    When convering images to 8 bit it works properly and the image profile is assigned.

20. items are missing from artwork when i copy it from illustrator and paste it into indesign. So frustrating!!!!

    just make seamless copying/pasting between illustrator and InDesign.

    would be even better if you can open an Illustrator file with InDesign. or if you could make InDesign like a render queue so you can better compress and save your photoshop and illustrator files to pdfs and other file types
