Out of a blue, white text on colour background stopped showing in exported pdf's. InDesign 17.2
It is the same exact document I exported into pdf 12 days prior with no issues. NOTHING has been changed other than the background colour & tracking of the paragraph style. And NO, this is NOT an overprint issue, I have read that thread through.

InDesign 2021 PDF saving & exporting before settings can be applied
Running InDesign 2021 16.4.0.54
When connected to the 3rd party plugin, Agility I can export 1, sometimes 2, files the way I want, i.e. pg. 84 then all pages on another file. After that once I choose save location, the file immediately exports & is usually done by the time the export dialog box comes up. So if I want pg. 50, it's still looking for pg. 84 so it does all pages. Or it'll do all pages if that's what was done beforehand. I can't change any export settings, even if I do & click export they are not…2 votes -

InDesign version 17.0.1: Captions generated in InDesign do not export with accessible tagging structure.
I'm trying to get my captions to tag properly when exporting to a PDF (for accessibility purposes). I used the caption functions in InDesign (Caption Setup and Generate Static Caption) to create captions for my images. I watched a tutorial that showed this process and the end result was text tagged as "Caption" and nested underneath the Figure/Image.
Unfortunately, when I export, the caption is tagged as regular paragraph text (<P>), and it is not nested with its associated image. Any tips on how to fix this? I'm trying to do things correctly on the InDesign side, so I won't…

InDesign 17.0.1 exporting to Acrobat Pro DC 2021.007.20099 and opening in Full Screen mode on Monterey 12.0.1 page transitions not working.
InDesign 17.0.1 exporting to Acrobat Pro DC 2021.007.20099 and opening in Full Screen mode on Monterey 12.0.1 page transitions not working.
The options are still there in InDesign and Acrobat to have page transitions but they no longer function. Is this a Mac issue as, apparently, Windows users don't have this issue

PLEASE do not close this yet: Hyperlink alt text is ignored in the latest version of Indesign
While Ravi Kiran and Dax Castro consider this closed, my US government contact does not. I need all the hard work I put into placing this hyperlink alt text into InDesign to come across into the OBVIOUS place in the PDF. Why is that such a hard ask? It seems like it could be in both places. Buried where my client cannot find it and where they can see it easily. Please reconsider. Thank you.

Disable automatic sect-tags on PDF export
When exporting a tagged PDF, InDesign automatically creates Sect-Tags for each story. I would like to be able to disable this feature on export for the following reasons:
- As far as I know, they are of limited value for screen reader users. The content is usually already well structured by means of an appropriate heading structure.
- It is very difficult to integrate figures into a story in a semantically correct/meaningful way. When anchoring them in the text, they will be nested in p-tags, which is according to PDF/UA not correct semantically. Hence, I avoid creating stories and use the article…

Nested anchored tables are tagged as artifacts in PDF
- Adobe InDesign, v.16.4
- Create three text frames, with a table in the third. Anchor the frame with the table into the second frame, then anchor the second frame into the first. Style and create Articles for an accessible PDF. Export to an Interactive PDF.
- Table would appear tagged and in same order as it was anchored in the INDD file.
- Table is set as an artifact and does not appear in the tag tree at all.

PDF-Roll-Over STILL BROKEN in 2021 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You already know the issue for years but you do not solve it.
If you make a interactive pdf with indesign and have some buttons with a state change on roll-over the alternate roll-over-layout does get stuck sometimes and the layout does not revert to normal automatically.
This is very embarrassing when pitching a client and he just thinks you are too stupid to do it. But it's Adobe's fault. FIX IT ALREADY IT HAS BEEN YEARS!!!!!!!!

tagged annotations - failed!
Indesign 15.1.3
Right now InDesign is USELESS for creating accessible pdfs, and they are the one thing I MUST create these days! It's the same every time, however you tag objects, artefacts etc they come up as tagged annotations failed. This means that the document CAN'T BE PUBLISHED. InDesign is a useless waste of money. It is rubbish in this day and age.
This needs fixing! The world wants accessible documents now!

Problem with linked Mathtype *.EPS equations after last update in Indesign 16.3. Equations are destroyed in exported PDF for printing.
I have finished book with 1.5k of equations and i am unable to export PDF for printing. (see attached files) HEEEELP! All Mathtype equations use system fonts (Times New Roman & Symbol) and they are EPS files linked in InDesign. If i open that equation file in MathType or Illustrator everything is OK. I can send whatever files you want.

Two-page paragraph border
I have a picture and the caption on two differentes pages. I want to draw a line between them. So I use paragraph border. In InDesign, it is OK (see image Dans InDesign.jpg) but in the PDF, the line stops at the edge of the page (see Dans Acrobat.jpg). Somebody says me to generage the PDF with board option. It's a good idea but the printer refuses to use this file.

Unknown character inserted before hyphen in PDF export
InDesign v16.1
We have an InDesign file where the word "papier" is hyphenised by InDesign in this way "pa-pier", but after exporting in PDF, an unknown character was inserted before the hyphen and is shown as the letter "u" overlapping a displaced hyphen. Copy/pasting the word from the PDF gives this: pa-pier
If the PDF is exported again, the problem is not reproduced.

InDesign to Acrobat Accessibility Bug
When performing Acrobat remediation on InDesign publications containing correct export tagging, the Acrobat Reading Order tool shows "P" tags at the end of each line of text (as well as additional "P" tags in the middle of lines). The Acrobat Tags panel shows no paragraph tags -- just broken up lines of text.
Fortunately, these broken up lines are not reproduced as such by the screen reader. So why does Acrobat identify each line of text with a "P" in the first place?
This issue needs to be fixed as it creates a dilemma and lot of unnecessary remediation work…

Embeded fonts in forms
When I make forms in Acrobat that use some fonts with licensing restrictions, Acobat show a warning with message.
In Indesign I think you should make the same.

PDF Files Not Exporting
When I try to export any file in InDesign to a PDF of any type or size nothing happens. No error messages pop up and nothing happens. My background tasks say export failed but no indication why. Also there are no corrupted files, disconnected links or errors in my document and it has been exported before.

Incorrect replacement of special characters in hyperlinks while exporting to interactive PDF
In InDesign, the special characters in hyperlinks are converted while exporting as interactive PDF differently depending on the platform (Windows or Mac) and the type of hyperlink and are thus made unusable.
If the hyperlink replaces a text without further intervention in the document, special Characters are sometimes incorrectly replaced.
The replacement is different depending on how the hyperlink is used in the document:
- text that is a hyperlink
- Assigned hyperlink to a text
- buttonIn addition, Mac and Windows export result in further differences.
So far I only have tested the letters äüö, but cannot rule…
