GUIDES and View Outlines / Zoom
Would these small implementations be possible in Indesign?
GUIDES
- Creation of guides from Paths (as it works in illustrator)
- Possibility to move guides eg: 30°VISUALIZATION
- Possibility to have the display in Outlines (as in illustrator), It seems a stupid choice but it is often useful for selecting points and objects ...
I think that with the GPU acceleration just implemented this function would be feasible.ZOOM: Couldn't you increase the Zoom I don't know 8000% / 16000% ?? 64000%??????

Typographer’s quotation marks need to be the default.
I have been using Indesign since maybe 2006. There is an item called “typographer’s quotes” and that is still present in the latest version. It should have been removed years ago. They are quotation marks. The default ones are the glyph for “inch”. This is a relic from the typewriter keyboard where there was only one key for both. Please amend asap.

Dynamic Data Merge Updates in InDesign even after Generated
Currently, after completing a data merge, the generated document loses its link to the source Excel/CSV file, making it impossible to update content (like product names or prices) without re-running the entire merge. This becomes a major issue when we've manually added custom pages, layout tweaks, image adjustments, or element placements based on text length—re-merging resets everything.
Suggestion:
Introduce a "Dynamic Merge" option in the Data Merge panel that maintains live links to the CSV/Excel source. This way, users can choose between a static or dynamic output. With dynamic mode, merged fields remain linked and identifiable, allowing easy content updates…1 vote -
Save sections
Would it be possible to create an option to Save As a selection of pages. I create books and have to divide the into sections when I"m finished all the pages. Example: A 192 page book. Save As Pages 5-48 only.

Need more options in the links panel.
Would like to select a group of links and do a group replace without having to do them 1 at a time. Or even better, select a group of links and group replace them with a SPECIFIC PAGE of a PDF (without doing one at a time).

How to make the current font point to sorted position in the font list? Instead of the recent list.
When I close the recent fonts list and view the fonts used for certain characters, it points to the font's middle position in the list.
But when you open the recent fonts list, it points to the most recent list. Sometimes this gives me a choice to get stuck. Because, sometimes I need to reselect the font down or up near the original font.
Yes, the recent list is sometimes more convenient. But sometimes it's not the most needed.
Now, I want to keep the recent list, but when I want to see the currently used font, I want it…

Besides entering coordinate values, does InDesign have a function to align two path points?
For aligning one or two points, the best way is probably to enter coordinate values, but can it be a bit slow sometimes.
Wouldn't it be cool to have this feature in the alignment panel.

Provide Options for Export to Express
Please provide choices when using the export to Adobe Express function. Right now there are none, and I cannot directly export a high resolution, letter-sized, print-ready document into Express without dimension downsizing and image resolution loss.
Having these options via a direct transfer into Express is critical to being able to quickly transfer current Indesign documents into correctly-sized, print-ready, editable templates for use bt non-design users at my organization.

Make new features available in all language versions of InDesign.
So, today InDesign 20.3 was released, including among other things the feature of converting PDF files to InDesign files, a feature that has previously been available in beta versions.
Now, for some unknown reason the feature is available only in English language versions of InDesign, which follows previous examples, where things as Style packs also doesn't seem to make it into other language versions.
My simple feature request is to stop this discrimination and make these features available across the board. There can be no logical reason why things as PDF conversion should be available only in English versions.

Why is there no copy filename only option when you right click on an image in the link window?
Never figured it out, was it forgotten or did Adobe feel it wasn't needed?

We want the IDKL back.
It should be possible again, that a InDesign Document is locked, when somebody opend it. It's really annoying, when more then one person can open the same InDesign Document.

It should be consider reading mml code by assistive tech for accessibility and need to think on providing option image or artifact
The new features of MathML implementations, should consider MML code need to read by assistive devise for accessibility purpose.

It is recommended that “GREP”, “Shortcuts”, “PDF preset templates” in the directory can be quoted in the directory shortcuts.
Just as I can copy the shortcut to my script directory (D:\myscript) to the InDesign script directory (C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe InDesign 2024\Scripts\Scripts Panel\Samples), I can use my existing scripts without having to copy them to this location. I can use the existing scripts without copying them to this location.
Just copy “myscipt.lnk” to Samples.For example, these locations, of course it would be nice to add these to the preferences to be able to import and export, that would be more convenient.
The benefit of course, is that you don't have to worry about losing these files, because it's just shortcuts…1 vote
