Add and option to auto-convert RGB images to CMYK in Indesign, instead of doing it in Photoshop
When we package any file from Indesign, we many times need to make sure, that all images are in CMYK color profile before sending it to printer. We get warnings if images aren't in CMYK, but it would be nice to have an option to auto-convert all images to CMYK, instead of individually going in Photoshop.

Please bring back Mini Bridge
Mini Bridge was an awesome feature that I, as a graphic designer, miss greatly. It made laying out books that were hundreds of pages long with tons of pictures so much easier!! Please bring it back!

Grouped items revert to previous layers when moved then ungrouped
InDesign CC 13.1, Windows 10
When I have a group that contains items from various layers, and I move this to a new layer, when I ungroup those items they revert back to their original layers.
I understand the concept that grouping remembers layers, and I like this feature! It used to bug me that grouping brought everything onto the same layer, sometimes altering the appearance. However this seems like an unintended consequence.
Say I have an item on Layer 1 and an item above it on Layer 2. Grouping these items makes them both "appear" to be on Layer…

Please add the possibility to place multi-page ID and PDF files like multiple images with gridify function
When placing a multi-page InDesign or PDF file it should be possible to use the gridify function the same way as when users place multiple images.

inverted color option with objects
When I select a text I really like how something looks when it's inverted by having it selected. having a feature that allows you to draw a shape so it inverts colours underneath would be cool. I can't seem to figure out how to do this in any other way.

X + Y Location
We have the X and Y fields to get exact locations of objects. It would be nice to have a button that would copy BOTH the X and Y location, and then allow you to paste that location with an object selected.
This would be useful if you have several pages where a different logo (or copy) on each page needs to be in the same location. You could grab the X/Y location of the logo on the first page, then go to other pages and paste that X/Y location to make sure each logo on each page is in…

Placed images should place based on resolution, not size.
When placing 300 dpi image into 72 ppi environment, it should place as real size (perhaps with warning if much larger than placing environment), and vice versa: when placing 72 ppi image into 300 dpi document, it should be 24% the size.

data merge multiple records: right to left
A right to left option when putting multiple records per page. Useful when printing backs of tags, etc.

Links panel: Place time
In "Links panel" we already have the option to add or change the columns displaying usefull info about the linked object. Choosing "Place Date" is an option to show the date when the object was placed.
Now... it would be neat if, in addition, the column could show the "time" as well.6 votes -
"Ignore Text Wrap" checkbox in Toolbar / Accessible in Quick Apply
A box in the Toolbar to check "Ignore text wrap" - for this box; And either/or make the command accessible in the quick apply list.
I find that I am doing this a lot to play around with designs to adapt - or not - to a image run-around. I don't want to have to find if there is a shortcut that might address this or a script.

color labels onto style-groups
I would appreciate to have the possibility giving colors to style groups. Like the layer-labels in Photoshop. If you have many styles, you would have a better optical separation.

Image frames grow in height or width
Similar to the options that we have for text boxes, Autosize to height, width, both etc, could we do the same for images and then use the fit to frame options to control how the text boxes grow.
i.e you import and landscape image into a image holder, it is set to fit to height, but then the width grows or shrinks accordingly to fit the image. this can then effect text wrap.

Inline graphic text wrap
I'm a long time InDesign user but am baffled by the inline graphic options currently offered. That ID ignores text wrap settings of the pasted graphic is counter-intuitive, the need to place a paragraph causes unwanted spaces between paragraphs (should the graphic not extend to the full width of the text block), and the visual "anchor object" and "anchor position" options has the graphic jump all over the place without reflecting the usual anchor point behavior I expect. Thank you.

Resize Document including Content
I know Liquid Layout, but I would love to have something simpler:
If I resize a document, I would like to have the option to have the content be resized by the same percentages. We often have to change the measurement of documents to accommodate different printing requirement. What we do now, is export a pdf and import it to a new document with a script. PDF ist resized proportionally on placement.

Direct Editing of Photoshop Layers in InDesign
Description:
Currently, users must switch back to Photoshop to edit layer details, masks, or effects before re-importing images into InDesign. This process can be time-consuming and interrupts the creative flow. It would be highly efficient to enable direct editing of Photoshop layers—such as brush adjustments, opacity, blend modes, and layer masks—within InDesign itself, without needing to reopen Photoshop.Benefits for Users:
Streamlines the workflow by reducing the need to switch between Photoshop and InDesign
Speeds up the design process, as minor adjustments could be made directly in InDesign
Allows more flexibility in applying last-minute edits and achieving the desired look…5 votes -
Need Better (and Less-Hidden) Accessibility Tagging Options
Please make it much easier to add accessible alt-text to InDesign documents. There should be an accessibility panel and pre-check to make it very easy for designers.
As it is now, it's too hidden: https://www.adobe.com/accessibility/products/indesign/alt-text.html

Highlighting non-consecutive words
I would like to easily highlight non-consecutive words in a document, e.g. names of people in an article, so that I can apply a style sheet to all the highlighted words with one click of the style sheet.
Don't want to use GREP, just a simple keystroke or keystroke combination, e.g. shift > highlight; shift, option > highlight.
Carpel tunnel syndrome is bad enough.
Thank you for the consideration.

ARROWS: Give arrow start/end a different color option from line type color
It would be great if we were able to make the end of an arrow (from within the stroke panel) a different or complementary color from the arrow line itself. It would be a huge time saver from the other workarounds required to create something seemingly so simple. Especially if it could then be saved as an object style. I think many people would use this feature in their designs.

Ability to copy link name only from links panel, as additional option to 'copy platform style path' 'full user path' etc.
I often copy links from one spread to another document and then need to search for the link on a a media archive for a client. It would be really helpful to be able to just copy the link name alone, through right clicking the link in the links panel (even better, without extension!) for searching purposes. This would also be helpful when searching your machine or a server for a missing link.
The only time I use this function is when searching elsewhere for an image / link, and therefore need to use one of the existing options, and…

Manually adjust width of columns in text frame
When there are multiple columns in a text frame, the width of each column is automatically divided evenly between the number of columns and the width of the frame. It would be nice to be able to manually change the width of those columns so they are not automatically all the exact same width, or height for that matter. I'm thinking much like how columns in a table can be adjusted, and then when the whole table is changed you can elect to have the manually adjusted columns shift accordingly or not. It would be nice to get the same…
