InDesign Preview For Finder
There really should be an InDesign preview for Mac Finder. This should be a requirement for your software and should not be considered a feature request.
Preview of InDesign documents in Mac Finder and Windows Explorer is available in InDesign version 2023.

This really has to be my Number 1 most frustrating issue with Indesign. Apple's QuickLook is so powerful. I have been using https://www.code-line.com/artview/ for years (makes Quicklook work for Indesign and Illustrator files). Every year when new macOS comes out I send my usual email to code-line to make sure artview works before I update. It is that important to me. One year I didn't check and it wasn't compatible.. Boy, do I regret that 4 months until the update came out.
I can not express how deeply I hated using Bridge for that 4 months just so I could get a preview of the documents.
I have over 11,000 indesign files so using Apple's Spotlight search with thumbnail previews and Quicklook (thanks to ArtView) is a god send.
Please, please, please enable Thumbnails/Quicklook on macOS.

Were there ever any recent updates on this? I understand this might be related to Apple also, but that there's absolutely no way to have previews seems rather surprising in 2020 with all the updates and finder's robust quicklook feature.

I just got handed over many many Indesign files and no preview of them is killing me now. Please improve the preview on Mac!

ID UTIL was a great 3rd party workaround Apple gave me, but it's not compatible with 10.15.1, so I'm back to sorting through generic icons to locate a needle in a haystack of thousands of files. Since upgrading to InDesign 2020 Bridge doesn't even display InDesign Thumbnails. Apple points at Adobe.

Agree! Without it, I'm wasting hours every day. It was not a problem until OS 10, so I believe it is a Mac issue.

I would love InDesign to natively support Quicklook on the Mac - the way of previewing documents by hitting the spacebar. There are third party plugins, but they have broken with the release of Catalina/InDesign 2020, and it would be great if ID could natively support this.

Yes - please add thumbnail-sized document previews for InDesign documents when the software is open but no files are open. This already works well in Photoshop 2019 and Illustrator 2019. It even works with some of my InDesign docs (about 1 in 5), but it would be very helpful if the previews of all INDD docs were automatic.

Yes, please. While you're at it, please standardize menus, windows and shortcuts across InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop... at least a little better than they are currently.

I added the feature request as follows:
InDesign Preview For Finder
There really should be an InDesign preview for Mac Finder. This should be a requirement for your software and should not be considered a feature request. Sure would be nice to have a preview of document in finder for MAC. PLEASE HELP THIS SHOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM WITH ALL THE SKILLED TECH AT ADOBE!!!!!!

Mojave can't preview INDD files in finder...only shows a generic indd icon for the thumbnail. Other adobe apps show generic icons in finder until you click on them, and then they show a larger preview. I was able to preview at any stage in finder on older operating systems. This is a HUGE downgrade. (I worked with a tech in this, who confirmed it was a software issue and not a setting to be changed on my system.)

OMG. Please already, Adobe! An entire creative community held ******* for decades using sketchy feature plugins for this?! Meanwhile we're all paying $50 a month for a CC subscription. WTH? Divert some of that stock price money — or just BUY one the plugins, clean it up and rebrand. What's the problem?
