Problem with Variable fonts - some glyphs are displayed with a lighter weight on changing axes.
Some variable fonts works as expected, but for some, the font displays at a lighter weight (perhaps regular?) when the weight is set for anything heavier than about 750. It appears that the heavier weight's metrics are used.
In my my limited test, the weight prints properly.
I'm on a 27-inch, iMac 2020, Mac OS 13.5.1, InD 19.

The Bold subset of Montserrat Thin now loads incorrectly with v 19.0, showing some characters as bold (correct) but most not bold (incorrect). This occurs across all of my files and is only a recent issue. Different letters are affected, depending on whether they are upper case or lower case (see screenshot). EDIT: The font loads just fine on v 18.5.

Same problem with me using work sans, all the text should be bold but clearly some letters are displaying wrong.

I have been using indesign V18.5 with no issue. I recently started using V19 and now certain fonts are not displaying correctly (see attached screenshot). When exporting to pdf they export correctly (see attached pdf).
The font i have most issue with is Montserrat family and it is only the heavier weights (Bold, extr bold & black). There is no issue with the font, i am using Adobe fonts and have been for a long time.
Clearly there is a bug with version v19 as i see other people have the same issue. As a designer i would say this is an urgent bug to fix.

InDesign version 19.0 x64
The (for me crustal) font Lexend is a variable font that had no issues in Indesign 2023. Since the update the fonts version can not be used.
Only the letter T is affecetd by font weight when it is more than 400, making it impossible to use the Bold version of the font. This is really not good and I can not produce any designs for my company withe the right profile.

I have the same issues with a font. The client works on Windows 11, InDesign 19.0, I tested the font on the Mac on InDesign 18.5, all good. After the update to 19 I have the exact same issues.
