PDF export preferences: document-based, not application-based
So I'm working on 3 Indd documents. On one of them, I need a PDF of page 4 only. The preferences are reset for all 3 documents to output only page 4. Why should I have to remember to reset the output for ALL 3 to All Pages? Shouldn't this be a document-based preference, not an application-based one?

PDF export default setting [Smallest File Size] creates a HUGE file (700MB for a 4 page document)
When I want to export a PDF, it is 200 times bigger than I expected. Regardles of if I manually change the compression to a minimum or select any of the preselects [Smallest File Size]. A four page pdf always exports as a +700MB file.
The InDesign version is currently up to date with 15.0.2

Tstype not taken in account for fonts
Hello,
I've noticed the fsType value in the OS/2 table of OTF fonts is not honored by Indesign nor Illustrator.
I've set the value of fsType to 0x0102 and this should prevent subsetting and embedding.
However, Indesign exports to pdf, embedding and subsetting these fonts. Worst, it gives no warning the embedding/subsetting isn't allowed for the current font.I've also tried to package my document and I see the fonts were packaged, while they shouldn't :/
for info, I had flushed any font cache to be sure the font files are the good ones.

Can't export as 2-up facing (non-continuous) PDF
I was able to export the pdf as facing pages (non-continuous), but recently discovered I am now unable to even select those options for some reason. I recently downloaded a plugin called "in5" https://exchange.adobe.com/creativecloud.details.100761.html and uninstalled it when it turned out to be a trial with watermarks. I've attempted to change one of the export options from "page" to "spread" with no success.
I reinstalled Indesign CC after uninstalling the plugin and am still getting this problem. I am wondering whether this is a software based issue, or CC account issue.

One plate prepared pdf images are separated to four plates in final pdf book
InDesign 2020 v 15.02, MacOS Catalina
I want to produce a book pdf with only black plate. I placed 3 grey pdf images in ID document and prepared them to use only black color (no cyan, magenta and yellow). The final result is that these images are separated to four plates in pdf book.
The solution is to save these 3 pdf images as for example tiff or psd and then place them into ID. Then the final result is right: I have a one-plate pdf book using only black color.
If this is a bug, please fix it, because…

Form Fields from InD Tagged Improperly as block rather than inline elements on PDF export
- Ver 15.0.2
- Create fillable form in InDesign and export as interactive PDF.
- Form tags should be nested inside (for example) paragraph tags. Alternatively, Form tags should display "BLOCK" placement attributes in PDF (Tag Properties>Edit Object Properties>Attribute Object Dictionary).
- What actually happens is neither of these. Form tags are exported inline with other tags but without the BLOCK placement attribute. According to Matterhorn Protocol, these are not appropriate semantically for the structure element "Form." This is a PDF Accessibility issue.
What I end up doing is taking each Form tag and nesting it under the descriptive P tag which precedes it.…

InDesign Export Issue
Creative Cloud InDesign shifts the colors of spot colors when generating pdf files. Only solution is to backsave as an idml file and then generate a pdf through pre-Creative Cloud InDesign application.

composer breaks urls when line breaks
Using InDesign 15.0.2 on Mac Catalina, URLs break if divided by composer over two lines when exported to PDF. My workaround is to add a linefeed before the URL (and hope it is shorter than one line). Some I can replace with bit.ly links, but these also fail if the display text breaks over two lines.

moire
Our cover has a smooth gray area that looks fine in InDesign, but has a moire pattern in PDF exports — even the Press Quality pdf.
This is NOT ACCEPTABLE!

Exporting PDF from InDesign to an encrypted folder fails
We have an enxrypted folder on our NAS. We use BoxCryptor to encrypt and access these documents.
When we open a document in InDesign and try to export it to the same (encrypted) folder we get an error and the PDF is not created. The error mentions the background task not being able to export.
Exporting the PDF to a different location (not encrypted folder) works OK. So I guess the encrypted folder is the cause. The worksaround is to just save the folder somewhere else, and then move it to the encrypted folder. So we can manage ;-)
But…

password protection makes it impossible to watch PDF on iOS
There is a bug in exporting a protected PDF to iOS Adobe Acrobat Reader. If I put a password protection for printing, text editing and content coping in the PDF, the Acrobat Reader on iOS can't show the file. The app crashes or every (!) page needs between 4 and 7 minutes to show up. Within this 4-7 minutes the page is simply grey or white. If I export the same InDesign document without password protection, the iOS Adobe Reader shows it perfectly and normal. As a workaround I exported it without password protection, opened on the Mac in Acrobat…

export to PDF
Why has the export changed?
Exporting the catalog directly from InDesign in August 2019 was 6MB.
Why, the same catalog, export Jan 2020 is 35 MB?
Everything is fine, same setting, quality, .. but the size is bigger and it is impossible to get to the original size.1 vote -
Wrong Swedish translation (greyscale downsampling) - very old bug!
InDesign 15.0.1
MacOS 10.15.2The word "under" marked with red should say "över" not "under".
There should be three "över" "över" "över".
The English version use "above" "above" "above".
The Swedish version of Illustrator and Acrobat use "över" "över" "över".It's a clear mistake in the translation. No debate needed.
I found the file below with Google. It's made in 2005 with InDesign CS. The same error can be seen at page 20.
https://docendo.se/ovningsfiler/Färghantering.pdfSo it's a stupid irritating error in the Swedish translation that no-one ever bothered to fix.
Could you please just do it now?

lose tags from masterpage when export to pdf
Hi, created a masterpage with footer text. Tagged the text as H6. Exported to pdf. Lost all tags. The only way to keep the tags is to place the text as regular text on all pages. Gone is auto numbering pages and the idea of a masterpage.
Please fix this bug. I use Indesign 15.01 x64 (Windows)1 vote -
