The character sequence -xx'-x crashes InDesign 2021 (v 16.0) on Mac
The sequence of letters -xx'-x crashes InDesign 2021 (v 16.0) as soon as you write this sequence yourself, copy or mark a letter from it (e.g. to change the text size) or do a search for this string, in a normal text field.
To reproduce the issue, simply write -xx'-x into a text field in InDesign 2021 or copy it into the text field. The X'x can be replaced here by other normal letters, upper and lower case doesn't seem to matter. The crash seems not to happen if the last X is a special character like ";" or "! Furthermore, there must be two or more letters before the '-x
The Font-Family also doesn´t play a role here. We tested it with different fonts.
Since we have a lot of documents with this letter combination, we cannot edit them in Indesign 2021 anymore. On InDesign 2020 it worked without problems.
Tested with InDesign 2021 (German Version) on different Imacs and Macbooks with macOS Catalina 10.15.6 and Imac with Mojave macOS 10.14.
The fix for this issue is available in the latest InDesign release 16.2.1
Please update to this latest version to get the fix.

Everytime, when I try to insert this link „https://www.thieme-connect.de/products/ebooks/lookinside/10.1055/b-0037-147979“ into an inDesign-Document … it crashes. It doesn't matter if I copy & paste it, it even crashes when I type the link manually (after the „/b-“). I tried this in different documents – it crashes everytime. I don't try to insert a hpyerlink – it is just text.

I am on macOS Big Sur (11.1), InDesign 16.1, Intel
InDesign crashes with this reproducable behavior.
Open a new document
Create a text frame
Copy or tpye in the following text: WST-111.U.771
--> This leads to a crash every single timeYou will find the original forum post here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign/indesign-2021-crashing-on-macos-big-sur-while-typing-this-wst-111-u-771-text-string/m-p/11882253#M417350
The pattern seems like "AAA-111.U" that causes crashes.
It does not seem to appear on Windows machines
It seems to only appear on german language -

InDesign 16.0 regularly crashes when editing text that contains one of these strings: '- or -' For example, when changing text formatting, applying a style, and so on.

Any progress on that topic? We still can´t edit files with those character stings.
