InDesign freezes while working with "Scale Tool"
When using the "Scale Tool", every 4 or 5 times or so the app freezes at the dialog box and there's no way to exit. You have to force quit the app and hope that your work is autosaved. Unacceptable and only started happening recently.

Any update on this? This has been happening to me for months.
I also have this problem quite often. Just updated to Indesign 16.4 (on Big Sur 11.5) – still keeps happening.
It keeps happening to me too. Really bad.
This has been a problem for many years, but Adobe obviously chooses to ignore this problem. How difficult can it be to correct such a bug?

It happens to me too! It doesn't need any specific file, just create a new file, drag a simple rectangular shape and double click the scale tool then it is just freezed. I can't enter any number to the dialogue box, have to force quit it. Please help to fix it.

InDesign 16.0.1 seems to be much better with the scaling tool not freezing on me (so far)
I've had this same issue for years and it's maddening. It happens to me every other time I use the scale tool and I have to force quit and restart the program. I sometimes lose my unsaved work - this is a huge problem for me. Any updates on fixing this bug?
Hi! This bug is still present in the new InDesign 16.0 on macOS Mojave.
Will this be fixed in InDesign 6.0.. pretty please? I use the tool to get consistent scaling and the freezing & having to force quit has caused a lot of lost work.
Just a heads up that the issue persists with the new 15.1.2 update (although maybe a little less often).

This happens to me as well. Having to force quit is unacceptable and it sucks to have to redo work that is lost because of it.
InDesign 15.1 on macOS Mojave 10.14.6.
I have the same issue. I'll also experience times when I double-click on the scale too to scale an element and I cannot type anything in the fields. I'll cancel it, double-click again and then it's okay.
And yes, it'll freeze too. InDesign does not say it's not responding in "Force Quit Applications" window.

I using ID 14.0.3 in Mac OS 10.15.1 (but this issue also appear in Mac OS 10.14)
When use "Scale object" tool, sometime the "Scale objects" UI can't fill in anything and indesign app have be freezes, and than I only force quit the Indesign app...
