Cmd-O or Cmd-N doesn't work after InDesign starts up.
This has been an annoying bug for a while. If you open indesign, then use the command-O or command-N key to open/create a file, nothing happens. You just get an alert sound.
The fix for this issue is now available in the latest update of InDesign – version 16.0.1.
Please update to this version to get the fix.

This doesn't SEEM like it would be too hard to fix, right? But Command + O still won't open files.

This is infuriating. Many versions have had this simple bug: Command-O doesn't work on launch, only after the first document is open. Seriously? It should be a simple fix. I use keyboard commands all the time to speed my workflow. This bug is glaring and in my face whenever I launch the app. It seems minor, but it reflects on the integrity of your product.

10 months later and it STILL doesn't work.

Same here, with every new update I’m hoping it might be fixed but only get an alarm sound hitting Command-N. After once opening a new file via menu it works fine until I close InDesign.
Has this ever been resolved? After you open the first file with mouse n drop down menu the shortcut works fine but not before.
