InDesign 2019 Fails to open properly and freezes.
I recently updated to InDesign 2019 and had no problem using it last week.
Today it is not opening properly, taking around 10 minutes to open a file, then freezes the second I try to do anything in a text box.
It has occurred with every file I've tried, multiple times.
I have also tried ending all InDesign processes and restarting my computer.
Not sure if anyone else has come across this issue?

Hello All,
Thank you for your patience all this while.
This issue is now fixed in the latest update (Id 14.0.1) of InDesign CC.
If you are unable to see the update notification yet, open the menu (three dots) from the top-right of Creative Cloud desktop application and click on ‘Check For App Updates’.
Once the update button is shown against InDesign CC, click on the button to update your InDesign to Id 14.0.1 for the fix of the issue.

Still have the issue after updating to latest version. Freezes when selecting multiple text boxes then text tool. So frustrating to have to select one text box at a time.

Im having the same dam issue, its pissing me off. I cant even scroll down my document without this dam thing freezing. i got so angry i unistalled the 2019 version and went back to the 2018

I'm having the same problem. Takes forever to open then freezes intermittently. I started fixing this by rebooting(worked) , then trying the task manager(didn't work) Finally, I found if I waited long enough, the application came back to life. This is a really bad problem when one has deadlines. It happens every time I use InDes 14.0. Hope a new update fixing this comes through soon.

I have the same problem - opening takes a long time, if I try to open more than one files it usually crashes. When opening the program again it tries to mend the old file which takes ages.

Some comments from other forums indicate that if you close the Control Panel (top of your screen) and use the new Properties panel instead, this lag will go away.
Mac folks say that the lag happens only when InDesign is first launched and then works fine.
Many Windows folks (including myself) experience the lag not only upon launch, but also when switching between the text and selection tools. Definitely vote for this bug to get fixed ASAP!

In my case it won't open at all... just crashes during the splash screen. Windows 10 as well. cc 14. Rolled back to 13.1 which fixed the issue.

Yes, this is happening to me and my entire marketing team. It always freezes the instant we try to click a text box for the first time after opening something, and it'll randomly freeze after that for anywhere from 10 to 30 seconds. I seem to recall that this happened with an update a few years ago and it was just as frustrating.
