Mouse-click in menus becomes disabled
InDesign 12.1.0.56; macOS Sierra 10.12.5; Magic Mouse
The issue varies with any file. I have mostly seen this occur when in the Find/Change window, or when I try and select a font. My mouse will not be able to click (select) anything in the drop down menus. I am able to select with my keyboard by using the arrows and "return" key. To get the mouse to click (select) an option from a drop down menu, I must first restart InDesign and then open the same file.
Based on the recent comments from users saying that they are no longer encountering this issue after the release of 14.0.1, we are marking this as Fixed.

Sorry— That's InDesign 2018 (also previously on 2017) on MacOS Sierra 10.12.6

Suspecting this is the same problem I have, where I can bring up a dropdown menu (e.g., vertical alignment in the text frame options box) but not select anything on it unless I use the arrow keys and enter/return.

When I try to convert a Paragraph (or a Paragraph Style) from bullets to numbers, I can't. This is a new problem with the crash-prone InDesign CC 2018.

Selection with pointer into popup menu doesn't work

When in Text Frame Options (cmd + b) I cannot change the vertical justification to anything other than top. Clicking the arrow causes the drop down menu to work, but when clicking top/centre/bottom/justify everything defaults to 'top'.

Everyone on my team is having this issue after the recent update. It's most annoying when trying to define or edit styles - you can't select anything from a drop down menu.

I am having the same issue. It is very annoying to always have to use the arrow keys and return key, especially in menus that have many options. I haven't tried restarting InDesign yet.

Same here, can’t change any pdf presets since High Sierra, InDesign CC2017 and CC2018. Any suggestions to fix this?

Same thing here El Capitan 10.11.16. Problem was solved first after shutting down my IMAC but now it does not work at all even after shutting down the Computer.

Same thing here, I have to close and reopen InDesign. I thought it would be corrected with InDesign 2018, but no, it isn’t. I'm on MacOS Sierra 10.12.6

I'm experiencing the same issue. OS Sierra here. Same issue with exporting jpeg, none of the setting dropdowns are working.

I select an item from the a drop down menu but it won't register the change, the selected value just snaps back to the previous value.
Sometimes if I change another menu on the dialog it then starts working, sometimes not.
I've seen this on various menus throughout including font selection, pdf settings, type on path settings etc.

Thank you! That does work. It is a bit annoying, but will suffice until a new update arrives. One sometimes just doesn't think to use the "old tried and true."

This is a huge headache for productivity at our print shop. When I click the drop down menu for preset when exporting, it refuses to let me pick any other preset besides what its currently set to.

Same config here; but click & hold (like in the old days) always works for me when clicking alone doesn’t.
