1. PDF issue with WorkSans variable font

   I'm getting a strange issue with the WorkSans static variable font when exporting a PDF. The font is from Google Fonts -- https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Work+Sans. The weight in the attached example is WorkSans Black. A strange overlap issue is happening in the crossbar of the A. The issue only seems to be occurring in that letterform. The only way I can seem to resolve this is by converting the font to outlines in InDesign, which is not ideal.

3. InDesign Freeze when anchored objects are 'Fit Frame to Content'

   Whenever fitting Frame to Content with an anchored object, InDesign freezes and I have to force-quit. This is really annoying, since I work with a lot of anchored objects that include text and need to be resized a lot of times.

5. Misplaced pin icons and shapes in Share for Review

   Pins or shapes in Share for Review are always shown with misplaced icons or shape "borders". All browsers render it similarly. In Chrome, after reloading and clearing cache through DevTools, pin icons are changed to numbers and shapes disappear (in DevTools there is some error...). Btw, in Opera for Android, there are shown numbers by default. Using InDesign 15.1.1 for Windows, tried different files on laptot/desktop with the same results.

   About a week before I used the function for the first time and everything was fine, but I'm not sure if InDesign had the latest update.

6. Exporting accessible PDF – wrong BoundingBox

   InDesign Version: All

   Background:
   An accessible PDF needs for all graphics and pictures a bounding box.
   This is used by AT e.g. to set a focus to a visual impaired user.
   Using the PDF export a bounding box is defined for all linked images.

   Problem:
   Often the bounding box does not fit to the visible area.
   AT user get wrong information, in fact the file is not accessible.

   Steps to reproduce the issues:
   Place an asset, where only a part of the linked asset is visibily placed in InDesign, the rest is cropped.

   Expected result:
   Bounding box fits to visible area

   Actual result:
   The bounding box is bigger than the visible area, if the assets content is bigger than the area show.

   Workaround:
   You can fix this in Acrobat theoretically, but this is nor real workaround as you only edit values and dont have visual feedback.

7. "Update Library Item" option missing in context menu of Libraries

   I am trying to update a library item. It's a previously created library item that I've made changes to. There used to be a contextual menu item called "Update Library Item" but it's gone.

   When resetting the prefences with Shift+Option+Command+Control at the start of InDesign or (for me) uninstalling and reinstalling a certain plugin, that menu item appears again.
   One user found out this:
   Renamed Adobe Indesign folder in ~/Library/Caches. That did the trick for me !!
   For the ultimate test, I put back the "old" Adobe Indesign folder and the issue was back again.

   To me this is not an issue that should be fixed by the user in such a way.
   That menu item shouldn't disappear in the first place. That's why I'm opening a bugreport.

8. [ID-4219714]CEPHtmlEngine maxes out CPU to 100%

   macOS Catalina 10.15.5. and InDesign. 15.1.1.

   Massive problem with CEPHtmlEngine Helper. After a while, my MacBook Pro fan is running high and in the activity window, CEPHtmlEngine Helper is running between 90 and 100%. It is no fun to work with a system that runs crazy.
   Why? Solution needed.

9. Viewing page with linked image causes file to be marked as dirty (needs saving)

   InDesign version: 15.1.1
   Additional versions tried: 15.0.3, 15.0, 14.0.3
   MacOS Mojave (10.14.6) on two different computers

   To reproduce:
   1. Create a new empty document.
   2. Add a second page to the document.
   3. Place Image, onto the page you're viewing (I did a PNG)
   4. Save and close the document.
   5. Open the document.
   6. Wait 2-20 seconds, doing nothing to change the document.

   Expected result: document opens to page with placed image, nothing else happens / changes.

   Actual result: document opens to page with placed image, and after a delay the document is marked as changed (asterisk appears in tab before the filename, InDesign prompts to save document when you close it)

   Additional detail: It seems to key off of viewing the page with the linked image, not just opening the file. If you save the document while viewing the page without the image, then when you re-open it (and see the imageless page) the file is not marked be as dirty even if you wait. However, if you then go to the page with the linked image (by clicking, scrolling, or command-J), shortly after you get there the file will be marked as dirty. (If you scroll, the key event seems to be hitting the boundary to the new page; the linked image does not need to actually be displayed.)

   Attempted fixes which did not resolve the problem:
   • Deleting my InDesign preferences (by holding down CTL-CMD-OPT-SHIFT during program startup)
   • Deleting my Cache

   InDesign version: 15.1.1
   Additional versions tried: 15.0.3, 15.0, 14.0.3

10. Slow performance - spinning wheel - AdobeFnt22.lst

    Hi Adobe, we are still having major issues with a lot of spinning wheels in InDesign version 15.1.1. because of the AdobeFnt22.lst files that are created with every document. Basically when we open a document it resyncs/updates the AdobeFnt22.lst file of every document that was previously worked from that Mac. This is causing a lot of network traffic and spinning wheels in InDesign. The problem is fixed if we restart the Mac or rename the "Document fonts" folder so that InDesign no longer uses the fonts so does not create an "AdobeFnt.lst" file. Can you please sort this out, it is killing our production, some of our designers are reverting back to using QuarkXpress

11. InDesign freezes while working with "Scale Tool"

    When using the "Scale Tool", every 4 or 5 times or so the app freezes at the dialog box and there's no way to exit. You have to force quit the app and hope that your work is autosaved. Unacceptable and only started happening recently.

    InDesign 15.1.1 on macOS Mojave 10.14.6

12. Menu item "Convert footnotes and endnotes" missing

    Although my software is up to date, the option "Convert footnotes to endnotes" is missing from my "Type" menu item (image). The interface is in portuguese, but you can see there are only four itens on the footnote/endnote area, the fifth ("Convert footnote to endnote") is really missing...
    I tried unistalling and installing InDesign again from Creative Cloud but it didn´t solve this issue. This menu item is also unavailable on Edit>Menus...
    System: Windows 10 / 64 bits
    Adobe Indesign (2020): 15.1.1 x64

15. InDesign v15.1 slow to open and poor performance generally

    Another decrease in performance between v15.0 (whcih was already very slow compared to v14) and v15.1 on Windows 10 x64 with a very high-spec workstation.

    Particularly frustrating is when you click on the icon in the taskbar to launch the app it appears as though nothing has happened and takes 30 seconds or so before the splash screen appears and the app appears to have launched. By which time you usually tried launching it again a few times!

16. Share for Review (15.1, ie. June 2020) color shift due to corrupt blend mode overlays

    I feel like we've seen these kinds of issues before. But I noticed in the new "Share for Review" (InDesign 15.1) colors in a test document are shifting. A quick comparison shows that blend modes aren't been exported properly when sending a document up for "Share for Review."

    In the screen shot, you can see what I mean: Top is the Review version as viewed in browser, bottom is the correct version as seen in InDesign. Some of the modes seem ok (Multiply, Normal opacity adjustments). But most blending modes aren’t rendering correctly (Hard and Soft Light look identical; Difference is something else entirely; even Screen isn’t looking right.)

    Verified it isn't a browser issue or even an RGB export issue.

    While this doesn't affect the ability to generally review a document, I can imagine a lot of feedback along the lines of "images look wrong" if using blending modes on overlaid objects.

    Tested with both Ai objects embedded in Id document, as well as shapes created directly within Id.

19. Crash when "fitting frame to content" on an inline-anchored textframe (inline or above line)

    Hi,
    Last week i noticed that InDesign crashes when I fit the textframe to its contents, when that textframe is anchored as "text" inside another textframe (anchor-option: incline or above line) when it is not separated by paragraph breaks or whitespaces.

    I have a file that has one textframe for the main column. In it I placed several smaller textframes with more than one column as textelements.
    I didn't separate them by a space or linebreak. When fitting one of the smaller frames to its content by double clicking the lower reference point in the middle to get rid of whitespace inbetween the smaller frames, indesign crashes immediatly.

    When adding linebreaks inbetween the anchored textframes inside the main one, the "fitting frame to content"-action works fine.

    My company is using this textframe-in-textframe solution as templates to automatically populate the frames with text using a script. When executing that script Indesign crashed and we had to go look for the issue. Fixed the templates by adding linebreaks.

20. BUG: spell-checker not automatically applied after pasting text

    When pasting text into a new frame, the correct language (german 2006 in my case) for spellchecker is selected, but not applied to the new text. I need to select the the text and choose a different language for spell-check and then change back to the correct language, then it works.

    A pain in the a**, if you have to copy-n-paste many snippets from different documents to single frames.

    INDD 15.0.3 x64 on Win 10 x64 (1909)
