Frame Fitting Panel
Fairly self explanatory. Frame fitting options are one of the only frequently used features that don't have their own panel, which can cause UX issues for various reasons. Solution, give them a panel.

Make the Learn Panel so that it can be enabled, even for experienced users (not just those who claim to be beginners).
Make the Learn Panel so that it can be enabled, even for experienced users (not just those who claim to be beginners). Currently, there is no way to view the Learn Panel if a user claimed "experienced" status at setup, even if this was done by accident. Users should be able to view the Learn Panel, regardless of level of experience. Evidently most of the students at our K-12 school, thought they were experienced, and now cannot access the Learn Panel for necessary tutorials. Please make the Learn Panel available for everyone.

Shortcut for active text frame out port click
Looking for a shortcut that would act the same as clicking on the out port of the active text frame. Rather than having to click on the tiny icon in the bottom right corner, a keystroke would speed this process up.

Ai panel and short cut automation
A workflow efficiency feature based on user behaviour and pointer travel distance the Adobe product suggests to relocate and add panels that would reduce the klicks and mouse movements, show and construct keyboard short cuts to speed up the work flow for you.

Better place for Alignment in Paragraph Style editor
Alignment is in the tab 'Indents & Spacing' - not very logical - I have to search for it all the time (not a daily InDesign user).
Suggestion: replace the Justification tab by 'Aligment & Justification''.
And in the dialog itself, the alignment has to chosen from a pull down menu.
Why not the icons as used in the toolbar (and a pull down for the extra options)?1 vote -
Alternative GUI
An optional GUI or shell that really simplifies basic actions for beginners. Easier handling of image placement and adjustments.

Responsive palette sizing
It would be nice if palettes would resize more intelligently.
Having the Swatches palette shrink down to 2 swatches high while having 3 pages of empty space in the Pages palette or having to click through all of the states of Align to access Distribute because I had to collapse it enough scroll down 5 spreads is annoying.
Having some form of dynamic sizing with priority given to cursor:hover (perhaps weighted by which tool or object is selected.... priority to relevant palettes) seems like it might help.

Re-separating the tool menu
You combined the tool menu in the right panel, but now I have to scroll down to the align section every time I want to adjust something. In InDesign, I'm mostly creating forms or schedules where I realign things constantly. It was more convenient before. Either put align at the top of the panel, or re-separate the panel. I can't drag align to the top of it either. If I could even just reorganize it, it would be better.

Make Ink Manager panel resizable
Title says it all. Sometimes we have a lot of spotcolors. I would be nice to see them all at once.

Use the full monitor
I use a 30" monitor. But e.g. the font menu only uses 1/3 of its height. So I have to scroll in a small list. This feels claustrofobic, since there is a lot of room outside the list box.

Story editor fonts
Many font families cannot be used, at least not to their full, in the story editor—despite the font family clearly having italic, bold and bold italic faces available. This limitation includes many fonts available through Adobe Fonts (formerly Typekit) as well as a great many non-Adobe fonts.
As best I can tell the limitation is due to these fonts not having the macStyle bits for italic and bold being set appropriately in the font itself.
What I envision is for the story editor preferences to have a way to separately specify the fonts to use for regular, italic, bold and…

Galley view in InDesign
It would be great to have galley view in InDesign, like the one already available in InCopy. This provides a way to work with the many features of the story editor while seeing line breaks within the text as they appear in the layout.

Don't activate name field of a highlighted style on first click
Expected: I highlight several styles, click and drag them to the new position.
Actual: I highlight several styles, click, but the click activates the name field of the style I have clicked on, meaning I can't drag them. I need to click again outside the name field to deselect the field, then drag them. This could be fixed by changing the behaviour slightly: activate the name field if you click on the text, but don't activate it if you click the blank space to the right of the name (allowing you to drag the order around on the first click).
