  1. Color Swatches Menu too small and not resizable

In InDesign CC 2019 the Color Swatches Menu is too small and not resizable, like in CS6. It was very useful to resize the menu so not to have to scroll in a small window through the many colors of some projects.

  2. Order of colour swatches when loading from another document

When loading colour swatches from other documents, can you please adjust the program so it brings them in from top to bottom or the same order as the document it comes from. It is so frustrating they load from the bottom of the list first and have to manually pull the main colours back up to the top every time. And there doesn't seem to be a button to switch the order. Unless you can advise me...

  3. Live color update when using color picker on a fill

When an object that can be filled is selected i can't use the color picker to see a new color without clicking OK repeatedly to see how it looks. Why can't it update in real time?

  4. Gradient panel - double click for edit on colour stops not working

Double clicking these does not allow me to choose a new colour or edit the existing colour. Only allows for me to save as a swatch.

  5. Picking colours from swatches for gradients

I find it a little tedious when doing gradients that you have to manually enter in the values of the colours even if they're in your swatches. You can add to your swatches from what you're making but you can't just quickly drop a swatch in as a gradient value. Just a bit of a pain when you're trying to work quickly

  6. Make gradients constant within the same table.

Gradients within table cells change direction when the rows are adjusted. If the columns are adjusted the gradients stay the same, why not the rows? It's extremely timely having to constantly fix the gradients within the cells if I have to adjust the rows in any way. The gold row gradient at the top is correct but after adding a row to the grid I have to manually manipulate each cell to get the gradient right.

  7. A workflow for properly exporting a dual colour-profiled document

Having both RGB and CMYK in swatches is a great advantage if you want to have a single document exported both to screen and print - but it turned out to be a swatch mess... what about a way to acknowledge similar colors as "equivalents" so we could replace entire document swatches from RGB>CMYK (or the other way around) when this export is needed? changing them individually will eventually cause mistakes.
and what about replacing entire link library from RGB>CMYK in order to export proper colours? I converted them and assigned all of their profiles in PS but now i…

  8. Update changes in CC Library Color Swatches in objects using theses colors

At the moment I have to change every single objekt wich uses the changed color manually. There should be a Library-Function to do this automatically.

    That would be REALLY helpful.

  9. Colours /Swatches Problem

There is big problem in InDesign for colours, because not every one remember different type of CMYK property .
Just take an idea so you can understand [ When you draw a owl in illustrator, so you have a lot of colours options to change by using colour helper or if need then add from swatches, it's that easy, but in InDesign that's very hard to that, because if you have to change colour then first you have to know that colours CMYK property, then you can add into swatches then you can use that colour. So that's the big…

  10. Refresh available swatches after creating a new swatch in Paragraph styles window

When you create or change a paragraph style, in the window where all the formats of the paragraph style are listed, you can change the character color, you can also create a new swatch by double clicking on the fill or stroke color icon. But once the new swatch is created, you can not imediately select it for your paragraph style, you have to change the category in the window (for example go to underline options), then go back to character color to use the new swatch.
Instead it should be that when the create new swatch dialog is closed,…

  11. Easy text export of color number information for Branding

On branding projects, I have to provide my clients with all their color number information, and make it look pretty at the same time. A way to export or copy/paste the cmyk, rgb, hex, pantone, lab information would be hugely helpful! See example

  13. Reopen color theme floating palettes

I have a workbook/training document that has sections, and each section uses a different color scheme. I used the Color Theme tool to create the different color themes for the various sections. But with each new theme, I lost the preceding floating palette. It would be so helpful to be able to reopen a color theme floating palette that is based on a theme you saved in the Swatches panel. It would be more convenient to drag the floating palette around the screen (near to the objects where you want to apply fill or stroke) than to have to undock,…

  14. Hex colors please!

Really would like to be able to use HEX numbers for colors. I know InDesign is primarily for print, but some of us want to move our digital teams completely over to CC, and being able to use InDesign for digital work would be great...

  15. Allow user-generated swatches to support no color, i.e. solid transparency

Currently we can change the color of a swatch by dragging another swatch onto it. This does not work with the default [None] swatch. It would be so helpful if you included this functionality. To reiterate, I am requesting the ability to change the color of a user-created swatch to [None] by dragging the default [None] swatch onto it.

  16. I would like to be able to choose the default color used when opening a new document.

I use a lot of one color for business needs. It would help me out a lot if InDesign would default to that color for text and tables when opening a new document.

  17. Variable Spot Colors from Illustrator Definable in InDesign

The ability to create a vector graphic in Illustrator, fill it with a variable spot color swatch (ie "Variable Color 1/2/3" etc.) and then when that spot color is imported into InDesign you can define it to match your project. Ideally on a per-instance basis, but even just editing the color globally from the swatches panel would be a big help. It would save hiving to make multiple versions of a graphic for each color you need - and that you may never need again.

For now my workaround is to make a layered PDF from Illustrator with a layer…
