The ability to select which pages are imported when uploading PDFs
I have multiple diagrams across multiple pages in a PDF. When I drag the PDF into InDesign, it will automatically choose the first page of the PDF without allowing me to select which page(s) to choose. I then have to open up Photoshop and resave the extra PDF pages as separate files and then re-upload back to InDesign :P

Selection of Even or Odd pages in a document from Pages Panel
Be able to select the even or odd pages in the pages window in order to quickly apply the template

More control over file name when exporting multiple files (such as PNGs for an animation)
When exporting images from pages on an inDesign document it names them like this

document3
..
document9
document10When you import these same images into Photoshop to make a stack or to start an animation the layers don't appear in the right order because photoshop obviously doesn't understand that the file without a number is the first one, and that document 10 shouldn't follow document1, so they have to be reordered manually. Could you not add a tool so we can ask or files to be called file001, file 002, ... it would save a lot of time

Automatic tables by adding 'Column Space'
This would be a major improvement of tables in InDesign that would be the envy of any other program and I think it is possible for InDesign to do it.
This feature would automatically make a table go to its text box width with even spacing between each column of text.:
This is how it would be done with a new feature called something like 'Column Space':(1) You would make sure the table is within a text box to the width you want the table to go to.

Make Save as line scalable
When you scale Save as dialog, the file name line did not grow. It's only a few letters wide. When you replace file or make another with slitgly changed name you must scroll to end of file name even the name fits to window if the line is wider.

Would like the find/replace font also store/show the actual filename for the font, not just the display version: I have recently received a new (Windows) computer at work, it has has some issues, and I didn't copy over all of the installed fonts on the previous computer, as I probably did not need many of them anymore. I work for a printing company that does updates and new set ups, so use a lot of fonts from a lot of sources. It is a real time user to find the correct font file for many jobs, given Windows' naming conventions…

The ability to flick between pages on imported Indesign files
Self explanatory - The ability to flick between pages on imported Indesign files without having to go to relink then navigate to the file, then to the page you want. A simple forward/back page button next to the link would speed up my workflow immensely.

Show colour settings for new documents
Hi there.
Please add a drop down menu to choose colour intent when making new documents. By default, print presets are CMYK in colour profile and transparency blend space. Web is RGB for both.
I use Print presets all the time for new documents. But I want those page sizes in RGB colour mode and blend space.
It would be informative to the user to have the colour settings of any document or template shown and user selectable when they are setting up a new document.

rotate canvas in InDesign
It would be great in the next version on InDesign if they included a rotate canvas function like in Photoshop. I use that function so much when I need the right angle to do my work.

Keep things in the grey area from moving
When I put objects in the grey area of the workspace or use a guidelines across a spread and then add pages before it all moves. There is a reason that i've put guidelines on a certain page and objects next to a certain page, I might need them again and I certainly don't want them to be moved all over the place whenever i add pages.

Arrange Documents icon
The "Arrange Documents" icon in the Title bar is missing, I would love to have it back. It was extremely helpful. Now it wastes time to switch that from the Menu...

Custom Signature Sizes
We desperately need to be able to create custom signature sizes for 2-up Perfect Bound booklets. Right now the only options are 4, 8, 12, 16, and 32, which is extremely limiting. Adding blank pages to fill out extra signatures is a garbage work around leading to an unprofessional product.

Ich finde es klasse, daß wenn ich Fußnoten zahlen schreibe, was ja meistens in Büchern die Quellenangaben sind, das die sich automatisch aktualisieren. Beim. Inhaltsverzeichnis geht es ja auch, bitte das für die Fußnotenzahlen auch machen. Vielen Dank 🙂 Bleiben Sie gesund.

Expand the InDesign “book” feature?
I’ve been indexing newsletters for a historical society for years. (37 volumes/years) There are 65 InDesign files in the book. Some files are by individual issue and I’ve compressed some files for each issue year. When I compile the index, several page numbers have dropped out and a few items have dropped too. Once I have the index file saved and try to exit, the software freezes. Is there any way of helping me?

Rules for master page
It would be great to have rules for master page. For example if I have a template for a product data sheet with a master pager for the first page, a master page for content and a master page for the last page it would be great for InDesign to automatically apply the desired master page to the proper pages. With this option the template would be easier and faster to use

Data merge to a formatted table for multiple catalog listing on one page in a single table.
I'm revising on a 180 page catalog that was originally created page by page, row by row with InDesign. The process was incredibly tedious and the person doing it eventually quit due to all the stress that it caused her. I would like to revise this catalog using data merge from .csv files but as you can see from the attached file some actual layout capabilities are needed and not all tables are consistent. There are also some cells in tables that need to be merged because they contain duplicate information. So far InDesign as only been able to create…
