Media Panel is missing all playback settings for MP4 files in InDesign 2020
CC 2020 is missing all its control settings for playing MP4 files in an interactive pdf. Until this year's upgrade you had multiple options on what Controller Functions appeared when playing/displaying MP4's in an Interactive PDF document.

Navigation Points have been re-introduced in the Media panel. This feature is available in the latest release of InDesign (version 16.0). Please use this release to use Navigation Points for Video/Audio files.
However, the Controller options will not be available. As communicated earlier, all options (Controller options being one of them) related to Flash/Flash player have been removed from InDesign as Flash Player is now being EOL’d (End of Life).

commentedThe media action is fairly useless without the playback settings.
The fact that you have chosen for it to be 'removed from the Media Panel' is a questionable decision. Surely this is a no-brainer??
Can you sort asap Adobe - I have had to download a previous version to workaround this (which in itself was a fairly painful procedure!!)

commentedI just tried to add video and can't get any skin or controller functions. It just clicks on play in the pdf and you can't stop the video and move to the next page. Not ideal for creating a design portfolio with multiple videos. this is really disappointing. Any idea when this will be fixed?

commentedHi! I was able to add the controller to my PDF using Adobe DC Pro, after I had exported my InDesign document to interactive PDF. Not ideal, but it works!

commentedDesperate for this to be fixed. Video has to have a controller. Any updates yet?

commentedThe "workaround" I found was to uninstall InDesign and through Creative Cloud select an older version. The old version works fine with this and honestly, I'm not sure what was added to the new version. Hopefully, they fix the new version soon, but until then I'll stick with the older one.

commentedHave we any updates here? I need to embed videos for a client presentation.
Is there any work-around anyone can suggest? The only thing I could think of is to export the presentation to PDF, then convert PDF to PPT, and embed videos in PPT.

commentedHi there, have there been any developments with this issue? I've just embedded a video into my InDesign CC document to find the same issue everyone else on here appears to be having. There is no controller option available in the interactive media panel, therefore, my video either plays once or is on loop. My client wishes to be able to stop and start the video as they please. When will there be a fix for this?

commentedI am in need of this as well. Why don't we have this feature? What's the workaround?

commentedSame issue here... trying to export PDF with embedded video for a client, but the "Controller" feature is missing in the latest InDesign version... so there's no video playback! Hopefully this issue will be fixed asap. Thanks in advance!

commentedSame issue - no Controller in Media. Using the Overlay palette's "Tap to View Controller" gives you nothing (I thought that's where the Controller options had gone). We use this function to create a interactive PDF of our curated MP4s per client, updated each month. For some time now, this functionality has been glitchy and now it's missing altogether and it's super annoying.

commentedThe media panel is basically redundant without the controllers and is a major step backwards. Slow clap.

interactive documents without the possibility of controlling the videos are useless!

commentedWhy are there no controller options in the media panel? I followed the tutorial directly from your website. It says that if I use an h264 file, I can choose these settings from media panel under interactive window. Why does it seem like every day my subscription to adobe gives me less and less for my money? It is one thing to lose functionality but it is another to waste tons of time FOLLOWING YOUR TUTORIALS TO THE LETTER and being led on a wild goose chase on something that cannot be accomplished.

commentedIf this was removed because of flash support, I use the Ajar in5 plugin so that does not matter to me it all gets converted to html5, java and css. Indesign should take a few notes from that guy, its and amazing plugin!!!!
