Updating numbers only in a table of contents
We should have two options when it comes to update a table of contents.
1- Update entire table
2- Update page numbers onlyWord allows it. Why don’t InDesign too?
I’ll be waiting for this change in next update! It’ll change my life!

Table import from word assigns no table style not default [basic table]
When importing (place) Word doc with tables, the tables are assigned the table style of [No Table Style] not the default [Basic Table]. Either provide a mechanism to edit the [No Table Style] or use the default [Basic Table]

"Yes to All" button when edits have been made to the imported version of a file location.
The lack of a "Yes to All" button when updating all links to a file location is debilitating. I literally have to press enter almost 3,000 times every time that InDesign notifies me that...
"Edits have been made to the imported version of "document name.here". You will lose these edits (with the exception of changes applied to spreadsheets through cell styles or table styles) when you update the link. Update anyway?"
The only options are "Yes" or "No" which requires me to sit there and hit the enter button for each pop-up message for an hour! Not to mention that…

set variable horizontal alignement in tables
Hi,
there's a feature that surprisingly doesn't exist in indesign.
It is impossible to set the horizontal alignement of the first column of table like in word.. The problem is that I have to set it only in paragraph style (right align of text) and force the paragraphs in the first column to be left aligned AND each time I change the paragraph style (what can happens a lot with some clients), the paragraph in the first column is set back to right align.
We should be able to set the alignement of the first column directly in table style…

Conditional rows and columns in tables.
I really miss the possibility to hide/show table rows and columns based on a condition. It would work exactly like conditional text that is already available in InDesign. You would select a table row or column and apply a condition.

Apply more than one cell style to a cell
With more complex tables, such as those for financial reports, the number of cell styles required becomes very slow to work with.
This is because you may want one column in one colour, another in a different colour, but then a row stroke cuts across all the columns.
At the moment, InDesign only allows you to have one cell style applied per cell. This means that when you've styled your table using one cell style, e.g. a colour, when you then add the other cell style for a row stroke, it will override the first cell style.
You then have…

Hide table rows and columns
I would like the ability to hide table rows and columns, like can be done in Excel.
Even better than hiding them would be the ability to apply conditional text to specific rows or columns. Right now, if I need to hide a row, I have to cut it and paste it onto the pasteboard, then when I need it, I have to go back into the table and try to reinsert it.

Auto-snap row height to baseline grid
Tables need an automated interaction of table row height with baseline grid (i.e. where row heights snap to baseline grid depending on cell contents, for instance). If this was a thing, it would solve all vertical space problems related to tables, because it would be enough to create a paragraph style with a leading matching that of the baseline grid to use and style the cells text with. Then you'd have real, modular, accurate yet automated control of tables' vertical deployment in the page space (not addressing overset cells, though).

Select multiple full table to edition
I would like to edit several complete tables at once, to change the cell height, text size, side spaces, alignments, among other editions.

Table border selection
When adjusting specific table border edges, targeting particular edges would be made faster if you could option-click on a line to select that line only and de-select all the other edges.
Currently you have de-select all the other edges individually.

Auto resize table when adding/removing column
Toggle an option so that when adding or removing a column in a table the column widths are restored to the total width. Now when adding or removing a column i have to manualy resize the columns until i can use 'Distribute Columns Evenly' and fill up the entire textbox again.
It also would be useful to just click 'auto resize' to equaly fill up the textbox by resizing the table.

The ability to adjust the opacity of a table/cell fill color. This is important for when pages have a background image, color or graphic.

Applying multiple cell styles to a cell
Ability to apply multiple cell style to a cell, for example, I want column 3 to be filled with grey and I want to apply Upper and down stroke which I have cell style for it and column 4 only required upper and down stroke but no fill. Instead of creating multiple keyboard shortcut and multiple cell style i could create one cell style which to fill the cell and then another to but lines.

Alternating Cell styles
Can you create an option to alternate your table rows between cell styles that you've already created? Perhaps applying the "Apply ____ style, then next" feature that is used for paragraph styles?
I just feel like there needs to be a better way to integrate your cell styles within your table style options. It would make table formatting much easier.

Build a better interface between Excel and InDesign
I publish a magazine monthly. Every month I must identify the changes, update the head shots, and the hyperlinks back to the original page. The files all start in Excel, then export to Word, then move to InDesign tables.
If we could bring the updates (Head shots, hyperlinks, and text) into an ID table, this would saves us hours of work every month. That would pay for the CC License.

Ability to search for cell format
I want to be able to search for a cell styles in the same way I can search for a colour or text style. I like a tidy document and want to ensure that only the cell styles I want are used. Sometimes there are hangovers from old files and it is impossible to search for that cell style name.
