Break the table straddle rules (borders)
Often we're receiving the feedback from our internal clients that table rule to be splitted whenever the tables are having multiple heads (attached the screen shot). Currently we unable to achieve this, need to fix in InDesign to fix this feedback.

Load automatically the maximun ink (TAC) from the CMYK working space profile in the separations preview palette
Load automatically the maximun ink (TAC) from the CMYK working space profile in the separations preview palette.
It would be a nice feature if InDesign could load automatically the maximun ink (TAC) from the CMYK working space profile in the separations preview palette. Sometimes it is quite difficult to find that value inside the profile and if you are working with different requirements, as some prepress workshops do, having that preloaded would avooid many troubles.
Thanks :)

Push Out Compensation for Perfect Binding on PDF Export
Being able to take a facing page document and adding an amount of cross over bleed from the spine and scaling that amount from the spine to the outer trim would be invaluable to my workflow for large perfect binding books. As it is now stands, I have to separate each spread to single pages and create bleeds towards the spine and move/scale each page to allow for artwork alignment in the final printing and binding.

Print Preview rather than a P... or is that a d?
I'm amazed at how complicated it is to be able to print something as simple as front cover and back cover as a spread.
in fact, i have yet to figure that out at all.
Is there a reason why i can't print select pages from a catalog, and see where they will land on a page?
I feel like I'm working in Quark back in 2001. Have we made no progress in in the print dialog box since then?
I'd like to be able to SEE the pages (from selected range) their orientation on select paper stock, and how…

Packaging links without duplicating them
When packaging a job it would be great if InDesign could move rather than duplicate links to a collected folder.
Currently after packaging a job for print and archiving I then go and delete the original files as I only need the one set. However it takes a while to sort through what I need to keep i.e. alternative images and layered images which I may need for future jobs.

Add a way in a book file to change the conditional text "Set" of all documents within the book at a global level.
Please add a way in a book file to change the conditional text "Set" of all documents within the book at a global level.
This way I can print "Product A" without having to open every document within the book and changing the "Set" to product A. Like wise for "Product B," etc.
An alternative would be to add it o the publish/print/export presets.

Print Preview Dialogue Box
The small print preview in the print dialogue box was recently changed to a light grey, making it harder at first glance to discern page from background. Can you please allow changing it back to dark grey be a preferences option

Print as mockup
All designers print or export their designs with a stroke that defines the paper size. That stroke could be replaced by a fill that simulate a certain paper colour (prefs defined) and a short subtile dropshadow.
It would be great to have in the print/export dialogbox a function that could do that for you, simulate a certain paper colour for the background and a dropshadow. Print as Mockup function4 votes -
XML Workflow – InDesign need to improve much
We're facing huge difficulties in InDesign while handling the XML structure in InDesign, but it's good in FrameMaker. After importing the XML files in InDesign, no control is available in InDesign to validate the XML coding structure, also allowing the users to easily tamper the XML coding. Due to this limitation, XML extracting from InDesign are not actually correct and users need to fine-tune the same and spending huge time to correct. So current XML features to be improved much.

CJK typesetting in InDesign CC
We're often receiving the inputs with Chinesh, Japanese and Korean languages, so we're reinstalling the CC with new language to handle these inputs. So it'll be good to have direct feature in InDesign to handle CJK inputs without re-installation.

Need to include Blacklining option
Some of our clients requires Blacklining feature in InDesign to track the corrections between previous versions of InDesign, currently we're managing this requirement with third-part plugin, called Blacklining.

Vertical Justification in InDesign CC
We'd like to include smart Vertical Justification (VJ) feature in InDesign without disturbing the leading spaces. VJ feature to be enhanced with many customized rules such as adjust the style above spaces, avoiding space adjustments between the particular styles, creating lines to adjust the base alignments at the end of each page and the facing pages.

REMOVING "FOLDER" WHEN PACKAGING
I'd like to be able to package a document without having "_folder" at the end of the file name. Each time I have to go back and manually remove the name "folder". I'm sure a lot of us see this behavior as annoying.

Provide Ability to Print Selection
Where I work, we create printed publications and also design advertisements for these publications. All of our advertisements are designed in a document using a standard InDesign template with a grid. This template is the same size as our publications and is larger than the standard letter size page dimensions that we like to print our proofs. The problem is that in order to print proofs on letter size paper, the ad must always be shrunk because of the larger document template dimensions. So, the ad always appears much small than it really is when printed. We could just simply…

Full Featured Mail Merge
It would be so helpful to have a full-featured mailmerge like in Office. Specifically, being able to merge more than one unique record on a page. Postcards would be the best example.

Auto speads into pages
Sometime we have to design in spreads then output for print in pages. This means with a spread you have to add bleed to the right of a left hand page and add bleed to the left of right pages when manually breaking the pages apart.
It would save time if Indesign 1- split all speads into pages and 2 -
extended any image/ coloured boxes to the left/ right by the amount specified in the bleed preferences.4 votes -
Bring Back the DPI!
Dear Adobe,
How could you get rid of the term DPI, especially in InDesign, and replace it with PPI?!!!! As a print designer for the last 15 years, it breaks my heart to see that the premiere software company for designers has abandoned a term that is part of the fundamental lexicon of graphic design. I am a print designer at a CA State University and it kills me that our graphic design students graduate with an BA in Art/Graphic Design without having set foot inside a print shop! Now, the software they use to layout printed pieces doesn't even…9 votes -
Include data merge source file in package
Include the data merge source file(.txt) when packaging a file that hasn’t been merged into a finished indesign file.
