CMD/SHIFT scroll speed and direction shortcuts are now broken
It used to be that holding SHIFT and using the mouse wheel increased the scroll speed, and holding CMD changed scroll direction.
Now, holding SHIFT increases scroll speed direction AND changes scroll direction, while CMD still changes the scroll speed.
This means that, previous to the update, if you were scrolling veritcally down your document, you'd scroll normally, and could then hold shift to increase the speed. Whereas now, if you want to increase the scroll speed without changing direction you have to hold CMD as well.
IE - Previously used to work like this:
Scroll Wheel = Vertical Scroll…

Place the close button at the top of all pop up menus (rather than the bottom)
When I open pop up menus in InDesign they are often larger than my screen (see attached pic), and as the close button is at the bottom of all menus, I am unable to click on the close button. I'm forced to change the resolution setting of my desktop in order to be able to view and access the close button, which is very annoying. A quick and easy fix would be to have the close button at the top of each menu instead.

More space for document name when saving
When saving a file, the "save" or "save as" space for giving a name to a document is often too small, as it only fits about 32 characters. 64 characters would be a nice number, so every name would fit without having to scroll.
In our production flow, we have to name our documents with the client number, the project name, the type of visual, the size, the language and, when it's ready to print, the number of copies. Our documents are often between 30 and 50 character long.

Display document size
Similar to photoshop, It would be very useful if you could see your document size on the bottom of InDesign next to the Horizontal Scrollbar.
No need to waste your time going to File>Document Setup

Single page view
A simple request, single page view without other pages on the screen.
Trying to focus on the layout on one page when I can see the others drives me crazy.

New Menu-> Window->Workspace "Center All" to Place Entire Document and Windows Centered Between Resolutions from Laptop to Large Monitor
I am currently stuck, I can't see my document because I took my laptop from my monitor to my bed. This happens in many Adobe products. I need to either relaunch and hope or maybe go back to monitor to hopefully find the edges and rearrange it. You should place a dropdown menu from Window->Workspace->Center All as a new command that lays everything out from top left to right and then has the outer frame fit the bottom right of your new resolution. None of current options allows for this and I can't find my documents

Add option to ignore images or fills when drag-selecting using Direct Selection tool.
Often dragging a select box over frame corners will pick up interior fills or images and move them when all I want is to move the frame corners or vertices.

Can we have a UI that makes it clear when InDesign is the active window?
The current crop of CC app interfaces give no visual indication that an application frame is active if it doesn't actually overlap another one on the screen. Unless the ruler is active, there is NO visual cue to tell the user that InDesign has focus, for example, and even the ruler change is non-obvious.
The problem is with the nonsensical suite-wide UI change that eliminated even the Windows title bar, which gives a very clear indication whether a window has focus. I assume some exec who flunked UX 101 has the idea that designers only work with one window at…

Focus the application after drag-and-drop
Scenario: 2 monitors, on the right Bridge, on the left inDesign. When I drag-and-drop a file into a container, as expected, the linked file does change.
Problem: inDesign doesn't focuses - Bridge remains in focus, so any shortcut key goes into this. Example, Ctrl-Z removes the last copied file... :-(
Suggestion: focus inDesign after an external drag-an-drop is accepted.

Make the Links Panel more efficient/less work to use
Make Links panel more usable by wrapping the information for links. For example, I can't even see most of the file path until I undock the panel and make it wide enough to view. Same with a long file name. Then you have to F around adjusting the **** columns so you can see both file name & file status. Wouldn't it make more sense to have an auto-size feature so info like this is easily viewable? Even wrap text to the next line. Also, why so much space between all the lines of info? It's a ridiculous amount of…

'Paste Attributes' - just like in Premiere Pro
If I have a couple of images placed on a page, if I want to match the attributes (eg. reference point, x offset, width, rotation angle, etc.) of picture B with picture A, I have to either manually remember (or copy) enter each of picture A's number and enter it into picture B's attributes, or use a script such as Equalizer.
It would be fantastic to have something just like Premiere Pro's Paste Attributes. Using this, I could select picture A, do Edit>Copy, then select picture B, do Edit>Paste Attributes... and a dialog box would pop up asking which attributes…

Floating Paragraph Rules Panel
A floating/dockable paragraph rules panel would be helpful when having to change a file with multiple paragraph rules applied manually and not in a style. As it is now I have to select each instance and open the dialog box and change the rule settings. Also, show both rule above and below at the same time in the dialog box! Thanks!

"Remove Frame" option
If you have several items that are grouped together in a frame, it can be difficult to edit them. You have to cut them out of the frame to ungroup them.

Discrete Zoom vs. Resize Multi-touch Gesture Preferences
Currently the enable/disable Multi-touch Gestures preferences turn on and off all multi-touch gestures, including multitouch resizing of content and interface actions, such as zoom. It would be great to have an option to preserve multi-touch UI gestures, such as zoom separate from enabling resizing of content. For example, it would be useful to be able to zoom in and out with multitouch in any area without having it actually affect content.

Removal modal warnings when opening a document.
Such as missing links, fonts, etc. Perhaps a docked issues panel once the document is open, but modals block the loading, and if you happen to be opening several old documents at the same time... Also the one that needs attention inevitably pops under the one that says the document is loading. Just remove them all and find another way to give the user feedback.

OS Specific Features Lacking
I can respect that you want to keep the CC base code clean of OS specific features, but I HATE subscriptions and I HATE the fact that you make the apps feel like 2nd class citizens on Mac. Two examples:
1) Full screen windows.
2) Full Dark Mode support.I won't go into details as I am sure that any developer / engineer working on these products on a Mac knows exactly what I am speaking of. There was a time when I truly loved Adobe products and thought it was a fair company. Today with subscriptions and attitude, I'm…

Make tool windows movable from anywhere within the window
Since I'm working with two screens I have a custom design to my workspace. However, whenever I use one screen only my workspace gets messed up and the headers of several tool windows appear in-between screens, making it impossible (?) to move them.
It would be great if I could click anywhere in a palette and move the window around, could even be together with a modifier.

Highlighting Currently Edited Document In Book
on to Hello there,
I edit two copies of a book open at once, each one a different format. If you look at the picture you will see what the two books look like in the books editor-kind of. I am migrating one copy of my book from A4 to ePub for Kindle (why don't you support the .mobi Kindle format or get Amazon to write a plugin for the purpose? I am forced to use Word to write a kindle book). The file are in two different folders. The files have the same name for each book.
It would…
