I cant think of any reason for this limit of 2. E.g: I doubleclick into a group to select 2 sub-object (knowing InD limit), only to find out, that object i wanted to select are 2 textboxes overlapping. So i instantly need to choose 3+, which wasn forseeable.

This could be a bug, rather than an intention. Id file it under Bugs too.

As a workaround, you could tell an startup-script with an eventhandler afterOpen or such, to read the document-name (which can be the name of the choosen template), and start a different script accordingly.

Very much like this. Hate to be "ported" around my document, with no actual reason. The user has no power to work with object-IDs, nor I want to tell my F&R-window "direction: by id".

If youre on OSX, you can Command+Klick on the window-name (top middle), to expand a little foldertree, to open up the file location.

So, InDesign should keep track if a view is unchange for %s Seconds, to make it a "spot" to browse back to? Because I constantly scroll here and there to do corrections…i dont think InDesign should determine where I was last.

    Heyya,

did you check in the PDF-export-options "compression"? There is a box in the lower right, called "[ ] - Bilddaten auf Rahmen beschneiden" (eng. like "Crop image data exceeding frame"

    Does that solve your problem?

I prepared a screenshot-montage, but cant share it here. So, i only have a german client, but in the programm-prefs » file handling ("Dateihandhabung") » InDesign-file saving ("InDesign-Dateien speichern") »

[ ] use document filename as export default

Should be off by default, to please the users liking the current behaviour.

I'd prefer #4 its more logical, but in Adobe InDesign Forum in a discussion about that, there were users strictly defending the current behavoiur be viable for their workflow.

I just checked – InD saves for all export-type. If I export MyFilename.indd as JPG and call it MyNewFilename.jpg, the next PDF-Export will also be default MyNewFilename.pdf.
So it has to be a document setting I guess, rather than a export setting, since export-setting (filename dialog) are passed when I use export-pdf-presets.

But I dislike housing another document preference into the InD-preferences, because I already cant differ between programm-wide and document-settings. Thats a project for another day (e.g. markers?)

So logically it has to go into InD-preferences:

Try to click the "@" right to SearchFor or ReplaceWith. Here you can access some wildcards, like "^t" for a tab, to search/replace.
