1. Text box (&photoBox) LAG & MOVE after clicking / editing

   When clicking on TXT box indesign freezes for about 1s then it's moving text box ON ITS OWN by few pixels (please take a look at video: 1-2s, 12-14s, 22-24s) like how is this happening??? It doesn't matter if the document is big or small, new or old - I've tried all options it's doing it every single time!!! I can't work since it;s driving me crazy FIX IT ASAP:

   Additional info:
   1. tried on multiple documents all have the same poblem
   2. new document with one txt box and some copy also have the same problem after clicking
   3. tried almost everything to get rid of that stutter and txt/photo boxes moving by thier own but nothing works and trust me I'm advanced user when it comes to software

2. 19.2 Performance (esp. Type Tool)

   Starting with version 19, but especially with v. 19.2 (MacBook using Sonoma 14.3.1), InDesign just SLOGS. Every time I select the Type Tool, it's about 3-4 full seconds (including the "spinning ball" every time) before the type tool is accessible to me.

   I am a long-time power user of InDesign and this is incredibly frustrating. My brain and hands now work much faster than the application — didn't always used to be true. Click and wait...click and wait...click and wait. That's what using InDesign is like now. For 700 bucks a year. Yuck!

   Have you made the program TOO FAT, with too many features, so that core performance can't handle the weight anymore? I just want to make beautiful pages, meet my deadlines, and not want to punch the screen.

3. Small implied movement when selecting elements

   I have an issue with the latest versions of InDesign.
   Whenever I select any element/object/text/images etc inside my Page or any pages, there is a delay in the selection with a tiny registered displacement of the selected object by one or 2 pixels.

   My only solution to fix it is to Cmd+z to invert the latest action that resulted from it. I didn't have that issue a month ago and it is very disruptive, could say that it is anti-productive. I am running Indesign on the latest version of Mac OS sonoma on a M1 max machine. The problem occurs in any situation (trackpad, inboard screen, second display, external mouse etc)

4. Glitching and Lagging

   Mac OS Sonoma 14.2.1 (as well as previous release)
   InDesign 19.01 (as well as previous releases)
   Apple M1 Max

   InDesign (and Illustrator) have become infuriating to use. All graphics and text are constantly glitching when scrolling or zooming. When selecting an element for some reason there is a lag where it things that I am clicking and dragging the element cause it to move. Sometimes it moves a pixel or get thrown across the page.

   I have tried the following
   In Preferences,
   Disabled Animated Zoom to no effect.
   Disabled GPU Performance to no effect.
   Changed Both Display Performance options to Fast, to no effect.
   I have reinstalled InDesign, to no effect.
   I have uninstalled all of Creative Cloud (including apps) ran the clean up application and then reinstalled, to no effect.
   I completely wiped and reinstalled a fresh copy of Mac OS, Installed Creative Cloud and InDesign only and still had the issue.

   Ive had this issue for at least a month but the bug reporting process is so dogshit I figured someone else would report it. I guess not.

   Mac OS Sonoma 14.2.1 (as well as previous release)
   InDesign 19.01 (as well as previous releases)

5. Dragging the cursor and highlighting text not working

   Hello. I just updated my iMac to Sonoma (14.1.2), and now InDesign (19.0.1) has some new performance bugs.

   When using the "Type tool" and dragging the cursor over the text I want to select, the text flashes, and the page briefly goes completely white. When I stop dragging, the text appears normal, but because the page is a whiteout while dragging the cursor over the text, I have no idea what text I'm selecting or where my cursor is going.

   A similar thing happens when I want to select a few objects using the "Selection tool" to move or copy them. The disappearing text, objects, and flashing happen in both Normal view and Preview.

   Has anyone else had this experience?

   Addendum: BTW, this problem does not happen on my MacBook Pro, which has an Intel chip and is about three years old. However, my iMac is about a year old and has an M1 chip. Could this be the issue?

6. workspace

   Hi
   Since the last update of InDesign to 19.0 version, every time that I don't have any document open the workspace changes to [Aspectos esenciales], my system is in spanish, and open a window to create a new document...
   This is more anoying...
   How can I fix my workspace permanently and closed permanently too the create new document window...

7. Fonts only showing in drop down, cannot type them directly in

   InDesign 18.5

   Issue:
   Highlight text
   Click on the font Window (mine is displayed on right)
   begin to type in installed or adobe font, font does not populate

   When I type in a font, I expect to be able to populate it

   Wen I try to finish typing the font in the searchbar, it doesn't let me type in the next letter and just gives me a different font. Some fonts don't show up or do once and never again, yet are in font dropdown. This includes both installed OTC and installed Adobe fonts.

8. indesign won't start

   InDesign 18.5 will not start/open - need to uninstall & reinstall everyday.

   I have tried
   - switching off Connect Fonts (Suitcase)
   - restarting computer and opening InDesign as first app
   - opening through double clicking on a .indd file

9. Drag copying to move the duplicate object no longer shows the original during the move.

   Bug, or simply changed way to do this with modifier keys? I've noticed that lately when I drag copy an object to its new position, the original vanishes during the drag. Often I need to drag it and still see the original while dragging for an exact placement in relationship to the original being copied. Has that vanished from InDesign? If not, I've not been able to find a list of modifier keys for drag copying variations.

10. ID window stutters when minimizing on MacBook Air M2 running StageManager

    I know you're working on making ID run natively on the M2 chip. One glitch...when minimizing the app on my new MacBook Air M2 /Ventura, the ID window stutters as it shrinks to the desktop -- instead of smoothly moving as other apps. This happens with all my Adobe apps, but it's most noticeable with InDesign. It's a minor glitch but visually annoying.

11. After Update to Indesign 18.4.: Bad Performance with anchored TextFrames and vertical jusitification

    I have a document with a text frame which is vertically justified and contains some anchored objects. Editing text in this text frame works but it is very slow in 18.4
    In version 18.3 it runs quicker.

12. Preview settings are not beeing saved anymore

    For years I set my preview size to 1024x1024px, which is the largest option. Since InDesign 18.2.1 the preview size setting resets itself after a restart of InDesign to 512x512px.

13. Adobe InDesign list panels unusable + Mouse click outside InDesign window not working.

    After I type any value by keyboard entering on a dialogue box (like font size, transparency, color tone, font spacing etc), all InDesign list panels become unusable: list elements (swatches, fonts etc) slip away from mouse selection like they were anchored to cursor.

    In the video:
    1. two panels working correctly (not important which panels, the issue appears on ANY panel);
    2. typing of a random value on a random box (not important which box, the issue appears after ANY keyboard entering on ANY box);
    3. the same panels not working anymore (in the video I am only moving the cursor over them, without pressing any mouse button).

    Mouse click outside InDesign window to desktop or other apps also doesn't work.
    Functionality can be restored only by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Canc and then Esc.

    InDesign version: 18.2.1 (+ ANY earlier CC version. I posted an identical report for version 16 too).

    OS: Windows 10 x64
    PC model: Dell XPS-15
    GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650

14. Previews are blank

    Switching on preview mode yields blank designs (artboards go totally white). Document previews in Mac finder also blank. Design mode appears normal and documents are saving fine.

15. eyedropper still not picking up font type style weight -- adds a stroke to outside or color to the text box.

    eyedropper not picking up font or style; it picks up color sometimes & stroke sometimes. it is glitchy to the max. unstable, unreliable. USED TO WORK. a long time ago...in a land far, far away.

    It generally succeeds picking up object styles. otherwise BIG FAIL regarding fonts, font colors, font weight. it misses completely.

16. macOS menu bar covers InDesign title bar (multi-screen setup)

    When running multiple screens connected to my MacBook Pro (14-inch, M1 Pro), InDesign's title bar will frequently get stuck under the macOS menu bar on the built-in screen, making it impossible to move the window either to another screen or within the built-in screen. I have to arrange the screens so the built-in screen is slightly above the others (even though it's below them physically) to get the title bar visible so I can move it.

    Interestingly, this phenomenon only occurs on the built-in screen. It's likely that InDesign doesn't know how to handle the macOS menu bar being taller (about 72 pixels instead of, what, 48?) and wrapping around the camera notch, so it doesn't respect the menu bar as a border.

17. Toolbars and palettes missing on startup

    Since upgrading to Ventura I have no toolbars or palettes – the whole workspace in effect – every time I open InDesign. I can always get them back by switching to a different workspace and back but this happens every time I reopen it.

    I have reset preferences and caches, reinstalled the software and removed plugins but nothing works.

18. Don't provide the GPU Performance menu for Windows

    It's outrageous that a giant corporation doesn't have support to GPU Performance for windows, when we sign the creative cloud plan doesn't shows that works differently in each operational system. Please, develop this functionality as soon as possible!!

19. Paragraph panel very slow to open

    InDesign v. 18.0 / working on Macbook Pro, macOS Ventura 13.0.1

    Help! When I click on the Paragraph tools panel, it takes about 3 seconds for it to open. Other panels (characters, styles, swatches, etc.) open immediately.

    This is a new issue with this version of InDesign. Is there something I can do to fix this?

20. InDesign 2023 18.0 /Users/user/Library/Application Support/Adobe InDesign/Version 18.0/en_US/InDesign Recovery/ filling up with DBTmp files

    We have an automated process using InDesign to export the XML out of a .indd files. We are experiencing a scenario where InDesign is leaving behind numerous DBTmp files in /Users/user/Library/Application Support/Adobe InDesign/Version 18.0/en_US/InDesign Recovery/ to the point that our Mac is filling up a 500 Gig SSD. These files do not clean up after Quitting InDesign, a Reboot, attempting the Reset InDesign Preferences Shift-Control-Option-Command startup of InDesign. These files are also locked. In our scenario, we hit 119,000 files or so and InDesign just quit working due to the drive being full. I have attached a list of the files to this request
