Can't change the names of Object States
In InDesign 16.1, the entry box for changing the names of Object States flashes open and closed in a fraction of a second—too fast for entering a new name. This was not a problem in previous versions of InDesign.

The fix for this issue is available in InDesign v. 17.1
Please NOTE that this fix also requires you to update to Mac OS Monterey version 12.1

I have to agree with Laurie Ruhlin from 2022 -- I am unable to rename object states. Actually, I was able to rename three before it stopped. The 2 and third were finnicky and allowed me to rename when i dragged them to the top of the object stack in the panel... then that stopped working. I saw other, older posts about undocking layers panel etc of which I tried and still no luck. I am on the latest ID 19.4 and Mac Ventura.

I am running Mac Mini M1 (first version) InD 2022 (happened in 2021 as well) Big Sur 11.6
Very frustrating that I can't rename my Object States. I can't double click, there is no right click choice to choose rename.
