[ID-4224416]PDF comments: Delete <FEFF> marker after removal of all comments
After choosing »Delete all comments« from the fly-out menu of the PDF comments panel at every position, where a comment was before the removal, a <FEFF> char is left behind, which shows up as a zero-width colon (:), when special characters are turned on.
Since this is a useless char after deleting the comments, the <FEFF> should also be removed, when selecting the removal in the fly-out.
<FEFF> shows up with XML tags, notes and index markers, so we can’t simply do a TEXT search for <FEFF> to remove it.
BTW:
\x{feff} doesn’t work in GREP search, which is kind of strange ...
Thanks for reporting. We will review the issue shortly.

the problem is bigger: those <feff> markers corrupt diacritics in Hebrew when exported to PDF, but in InDesign it still looks OK. so InDesign is not WYSIWYG anymore

@jamal Thank’s for your suggestion, but as I stated in the Bug description: <FEFF> is used with XML tags, index markers, etc., so you can’t just delete them with search and replace, since this will destroy all functionality related to <FEFF>!

I suggest that you search for <FEFF> not in GREP, but in "Text" search and, while keeping the "Change to" box empty click Change All. In another word, replace <FEFF> with nothing, It well solve the problem.
Yes, it is an annoying bug, in addition to what mentioned above, it causes a serious problem for Arabic text. Whenever this <FEFF> mark is exist , it well make changes to some Arabic letters like "Hamza" in the same line.

Yes please, we need a solution for this.
And it would be very interesting an option to remove all resolved comments, in the comments window, because indesign has a performance problem with too many comments. -

Yes, this is a very big problem.
You can not remove these stamps, they make a lot of problems after entering the comments, in further work on the document, e.g. find and replace field. -
