CC2019 when Exporting to PDF does not remember the filename you have given it
When exporting a PDF, InDesign normally remembers the name you have previously given the PDF you are exporting - CC2019 does not.
Example: you have an InDesign document named 'Hello'. You go to export it and InDesign automatically gives it the exported PDF name 'Hello.pdf' in the 'Save As' window as expected, but you rename it 'Goodbye.pdf' instead. If you ever want to export it again InDesign CC2019 no longer remembers 'Goodbye.pdf' as previous versions of InDesign, but reverts back to 'Hello.pdf' - so you have to rename it each time.
(InDesign CC2019 14.0.1 / Mac running OS X Mojave)

In the Export dialog, there is an option at the bottom called “Use InDesign Document Name as the Output Filename.” You can uncheck that option to remember the output filename you have given instead of InDesign defaulting to the document name.
Hope this helps.

admin - that feature has been removed in 14.0.2 - pity as I had come to rely on it.
(just in case that is a bug - Win7 OS)
I'd like it back -

I figured it out! When you Export the PDF, there's a new options at the bottom of the dialog box that says, "Use InDesign Document Name as the Output Filename." You just need to uncheck that box! I don't know why Adobe didn't answer this one more quickly.

Looks like the Admin marked this as resolved without comment. The Admin should have noted that you need to uncheck the box that says to use the InDesign filename as the output filename. This way when you go to export another pdf, the last export name will be there and you can change it from "revision3" to "revision4" for example.

Sorry, it is a bug for me, because that was working well in older Versions.
Now I saw this:

CC 14.0 x64 Win 10 not saving last pdf export filename, as in earlier versions.
+ Saving the documents takes more time than in previous versions. -

I have a german version, so i try to translate it correctly. When you start to export a window open and you can made a choice: Use Indesign-Document-Name as Output-Name. Just unset this.

I just downloaded the 14.0 x64 version of Adobe Indesign CC and have discovered a new feature that is an awful change! In previous versions, when you exported a pdf file and you changed the file name to include a date or revision number, from then on, whenever you made a pdf of that same file, it would default to whatever file name you used the last time you made a pdf. Now it appears that it defaults back to the Indesign file name every time and just appends the pdf suffix. If there is any way to change that back with a preference or hack, please let me know. This will be a terrible, terrible change for us.
