Paragraph shading not aligned in justified text when optical alignment is on
If optical margin alignment (story) is ON the paragraph shading doesn't align on the right margin of justified text. hyphens seem to push the edge of the shading out. This is in build 13.1.1 but is also reported in 15.0.0.155. I cannot update to the newest version without buying a new computer—so I won't be anytime soon or maybe ever. So I hope that the bug would get fixed retroactively. My original post is here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign/paragraph-shading-text-width-not-justifying/m-p/10750103#M164426

Optical Kerning issues after recent v15 update
After the recent update (v15.0), I am having issues with Optical kerning, specifically with the font Noto Serif Khmer (Cambodian font). The kerning is completely off. I've opened the file in v14.0.3 and everything works fine in that version.

Glyph substitution not working with certain Oriya and Bengali glyphs
The following words in cannot be reproduced in InDesign. It seems the glyph substitution is not working in about 1% of cases.
র্যানিবিজুমাব — Bengali
ମହତ୍ଵପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ — Oriya
ସ୍ଵେଚ୍ଛାକୃତ — Oriya
କିମ୍ଵା — OriyaIt looks fine above, in any text editor, or in any Microsoft app, but does NOT look right in any Adobe app I tested, such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop CC 2019 and 2020 of each.
I am applying the World-Ready Composers.
I have tried copy+pasting the text from Word and also tried the Place command in InDesign.

Indents incorrect when importing Word document
When importing a Word document that contains some indented paragraphs, the left indent being set to 5mm in Word (for example), once placed in InDesign, these 5mm indents typically show as 4.992mm. This would not neccesarily be a problem except that Find/Change in InDesign will not recognise an indent to 3 decimal places and therefore this cannot be located easily and fixed. This is proving to be a big problem in my workflow as I cannot automate the process of re-styling these paragraphs using InDesign Paragraph Styles with Find/Change. This bug occurs whatever measurement system is used, i.e. mm, inches,…

Grep expressions with ~F in a character class fail in endnotes
The inclusion of ~F in a character class invalidates grep expressions in endnotes.
InDesign version: 14.0.2.324 (with the GREP fix installed)
Steps to reproduce:
- Open the attached document. It contains a single page with text and an endnote.
- In the GREP tab of the Find/What window, enter the following GREP expression:
\d[^.,;~F]+
And target the document. The expression matches from a digit up to the next period, comma, semicolon, or footnote marker.
Expected result: The expression should match some text in the main text and in the endnote.
Actual Result: The expression does not match anything in the endnote. To…

Footnote marker is replaced with an unknown character if preceded by a character with a specific Unicode pattern
Footnote marker is replaced with an unknown character if preceded by a character with a specific Unicode pattern. Unicode pattern is U+##1a. Here are some of those characters:
U+011a
U+021a
U+031a
U+041a
U+051a
U+061a
U+071a
U+081aYou could try the attached test file for placement in to an InDesign document. Unicode of the character following the footnote marker is : U+011a
This happen when file format of the file is either RTF or DOC. Its not a issue with DOCX.

Bad optical kerning for superscript "4"
When a superscript "4" follows a closing smart quotation mark, optical kerning is set to -60 or -70 depending on font. This is too close (basically a crash).
This is annoying for books with lots of endnotes, where superscript numbers usually follow quotation marks.

Invisible character
Apply all Auto Edits inserts an invisible character before which then interferes with Find and Replace. When pasted into a GREP search, it looks like ~I, but can't be found. It can be manually removed, but this is not helpful, as I need to be able to perform a comprehensive Find/Replace.

Keyboard shortcuts to change case not working on Windows
Keyboard shortcuts to change case of lines of text is no longer working. Apart from Alt-T to get up the text menu, I'm now having to use the mouse to select the further options to change to Title case. The sequence Alt-T-E-T, no longer works. As I frequently have many entries which need unifying each time I use it, this once useful feature is sorely missing. Please can you fix it Adobe?

[ID-4199810]Cross reference takes more space than its text
A cross reference sometimes takes up more space than its actual text.
In the attached shows a frame with text with the right side of the text frame visible and the word "with" (above) extending well beyond the 2nd to last line in the frame. The "112" in the picture is a cross reference. When that cross reference is removed and "regular" text is typed in the 112 fits on the line.
Question first posted and confirmed by another here: https://forums.adobe.com/message/10908454#10908454.
This happens in CS6 and in CC2019, 14.0.1 x64.

[ID-4213629]Indesign performance issue : Slow work of Indesign when editing text with large footnotes
I'd like to report a bug. Please follow the scenario below:
In a single column with lots of text in it, make two columns for a fragment of text
In text within the two-column setup, make a footnote. Add several lines of text to the footnote
Turn on the "Span Footnotes Across Columns" feature so that footnote ends up in the same group with the footnotes at the bottom of the page rather than below the two-column fragment
Expected behaviour: normal editing can be performed after these manipulations
Observed behaviour: any text editing after turning on the "Span Footnotes Across…

Cmd/Ctrl+Backspace and Cmd/Ctrl+Delete bugs
Hi,
Cmd/Ctrl+Backspace and Cmd/Ctrl+Delete bugs act erratically in latest InCopy (13.1) on Mac and Windows: contrary to all other apps and InDesign Story Editor, they delete words from seemingly random side of the cursor.
See https://forums.adobe.com/message/10524905
Actual result: Cmd+Del often deletes from left hand side, Cmd+Backspace often deletes from right hand side of the cursor.
Expected result: Cmd/Ctrl+Del always deletes the word to the right of the cursor; Cmd/Ctrl+Backspace always deletes a word from to the left of the cursor.

InDesign is unusable after the latest update (13.1) with spell checking and hyphenation is set to Hungarian / Winsoft.
InDesign is unusable after the latest update (13.1) if spell checking and hyphenation is set to Hungarian / Winsoft. All words are underlined as incorrectly spelled, hyphenation dosen't work, InDesign hangs. If I open a documents saved before the update InDesign displays the document, than hangs.

Dictionary Hyphenation in Uppercase ignored (German)
Custom hyphenation settings are ignored for uppercase words in user dictionary (at least in german).
Example:
dictionary entry: "kro~~~nach" (select field "case-sensitive" not set)
Expected behaviour:
Lorem ipsum Kro-
nach dolor sit amet kro-
nach
Actual behaviour:
Lorem ipsum Kron-
ach dolor sit amet kro-
nach
Workaround:
Enabling "Case-sensitive" and adding lowercase and uppercase version leads to correct hyphenation.

BUG: Changes aren't tracked for bottom-right table cell
The last cell in a table is a “dead” cell as far as Track Changes is concerned. If you copy cells from another row and paste them in the last table row, if the selection you are pasting into contains the last cell in the table, the pasted text will not be marked as a change. Likewise, inserting a new row in a table as the last row via drag and drop isn’t marked as an insertion at all. Inserting a new column in a table as the last column via drag and drop is tracked as an insertion for…

When you apply a large Paragraph Shading to the left or right on multicolumn text, the Shading overlaps the text. (Also obscuring text!)
