  1. Recently used in Find/Change Format (in Find/Change)

The recently used dropdowns for Find What and Change to are really helpful to re-use recent search terms. Something similar for the Find Format and Change Format options would save a lot of time.

The dropdowns could work well, but being able to dynamically (within each document/book) specify two or three to keep as buttons would be even more helpful, for the most used changes, which for me are really simple things like 'Character style: italics' (Find or Change to my predefined character style called italics).

  2. GPU Acceleration enabled on closed MacBook Pros

I wish that GPU acceleration and the presence of a retina monitor weren't tied tougher. I have a MacBook Pro that I have docked and driving two monitors. If I want GPU acceleration I have to open my laptop when launching InDesign to enable GPU acceleration. I'm not sure why this feature requires a retina screen at launch.

It works just fine if I open the laptop and launch InDesign and close the laptop.
GPU acceleration doesn't seem to have the same requirements in other Adobe products that I use (Illustrator, Photoshop, or After Effects).

  3. Automatic drilling-down in index preview when new entry is added

When I use the key combination Ctrl-Alt-Shift-[ to add a new index entry, I can't immediately tell if it worked. I have to scroll to the right spot in the index preview and drill down through the alphabet and layers of headings and subheadings to find the new entry and see that it looks as expected.

This really slows me down. I find myself doing this over and over again. And I have to do, it, because if for some reason the key combo didn't work (say, because one of the keys wasn't depressed enough) and I didn't notice, it…

  4. Would like to be able to ignore specific flags in Preflight

When preflighting a file, I would like to be able to choose to ignore specific flags that are brought up, that do not actually pose a threat to processing, while keeping in place the original settings that caused the flag to begin with (as in most cases it is an issue that needs to be fixed).

  5. Now that we can choose the fonts and sizes for forms in indesign it would be nice if we can choose the colour of the fonts too.

After finally being able to choose what font and it's size and style in the forms section of indesign, we seem to be missing the final piece of the puzzle, which is the colour of the font too. Would be really nice to finally get that added in.

  6. Indesign Crashing when 'Quick Apply' is used.

Quick Apply crashes Indesign 2019, with every new release, we have had historically had similar issues, until a plugin to prevent such crash was copied over (via script, sent by you guys (Adobe)). Kindly address this now and in future releases.

  7. Control bar font menu extension

re: the control bar font menu, v14
This dropdown has been improved with more features, but also has lost something valuable: it now only lists about 10 fonts at a time--to see more you have to scroll. It used to drop down the length of the InDesign window, so that you could see dozens of fonts at a time. Please allow users the ability to extend the dropdown to any length they wish.

  8. List of fonts. Option to reinitialize alphabetical order

List of fonts. Please add option to reinitialize the list of fonts. Before beginning a new project, I do not want to have the ones that I used before ahead of the list. I would like to replace these in their alphabetical order.

  9. Rererence to Excel worksheet/'named' ranges appearing in links palette

Is it possible to display source file information (Worksheet name + named range) for dynamically linked Excel files?
I have hundreds of InDesign files linked to an Excel file and would like to see a quick reference list of links, rather than just the overall Excel filename as listed in the 'Links' palette?

  10. Consolidate identical suggestions

Have someone go through the InDesign forum and consolidate identical suggestions into one listing and update its vote total.

I believe some major issues are getting overlooked just because there being suggested at different times so the vote count is spread out.

  11. in the "Printer Marks" tutorial, specify exactly how to print fold marks.

The Printer's Marks tutorial (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/using/printers-marks-bleeds.html) says: If you select the Crop Marks option, fold marks are printed as solid lines when spreads are printed. But there is no detail about how to create fold marks, and simply printing crop marks does not appear to automatically create fold marks or offer any option to do so. More clarity and specifics would be helpful.

  12. Clear Alerts Crashes InDesign

I have an alert saying, "Version 4 ICC Profiles were converted to 2 ICC Profiles during PDF Export." –– and when I click "Clear Alerts," there is an instantaneous crash. Every time.

What could be causing this issue is that this is a new document created from an old one. I've gutted all the assets and created new stuff, but the old export registrar (or what-have-you) must still be embedded and is causing issues when I try to clear that data. I don't know.

  13. InDesign CC needs an easy plug in to export to MOBI file for Kindle readers like there was in past versions.

Past versions of InDesign had option to a third party plugin (KindlePluginForAdobeInDesign) that doesn't work with CC. This plugin was very useful in creating MOBI files from book layouts done in InDesign. Going from EPUB to MOBI doesn't seem to work. Please include this plugin for InDesign CC and make book designer lives easier.

  14. Ability to embed PDF files within an InDesign file (not place pages)

It would be ideal to have the ability to embed PDF's within an offline InDesign File (as you can do with Microsoft Word).
Example use: embedding updated documents in to a company newsletter

  17. Hyperlink to open a file in server doesn't work

    Hi
    Here's my problem.
I try to make a pdf with hyperlinks that lead to some files. (Jpg,doc,xlsx...)
Those files are on a server shared by all my colleagues.
But the link never work in the pdf.
Acrobat or other pdf reader try to connect to internet instead of opening the files. whatever the option i choose in the hyperlink pannel, i see that indesign add url=http before my link.
Anyone know how we could fix that bug ???

  18. BUG? Random grey bars on screen in ID CC

I'm trying out ID CC and opened an ID C6 file to test. There are grey bars that appear randomly on screen. Not in fit in window view but in any other view when zoomed. Please see attached screen shot of the grey bars.

I'm using a 13" MacBook Pro (2017) with 16GB RAM. Under preferences, Display Performance is set to default and CPU Performance shows Compatible CPU and Monitor Detected.

    How to resolve this?

  20. Same shortcuts for all Adobe products (the most important one)

A lot of shortcuts are totally different for each programm of adobe. This is confusing. I think the most important shortcuts should be always the same for each adobe programm
