Put back scroll arrows on the scrollbars in InDesign
With the update from InDesign 2020 to InDesign 2021 I noticed that the scroll arrows at the end of the right and bottom scroll bars have disappeared (see Image 1 (ID). In Illustrator 2021 however they are still present (see Image 2 (Ill).
I can't find any setting in the preferences to toggle them on or off.
I use these arrows frequently and the omission of these arrows in the new InDesign are very annoying to me.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Until this is fixed, FYI, you can remap your page up and page down buttons on your keyboard (or if you don't have those, some other shortcut or buttons you want to use). You can have them jump precisely to "Next Spread" or "Previous Spread". You can change this in keyboard shortcuts in preferences. Next Spread & Previous Spread are also found in the Layout drop menu (on a Mac at least), and they may come pre-programmed with some other keyboard shortcut (don't remember).

Adobe should cater to all users. And not also forget book and long document publishers, writers and editors, not ignore a main feature of our work, which they don't realize is: (wait for it...) the Scroll Bar! Yes. the routine, mundane scroll bar, which Adobe InDesign has ruined for precise use, by eliminating the buttons. Thanks. For the hours of aggravation.
An arrow should be at each end of each scroll bar. This isn't voted on by many people because they have given up, and just use the mouse or pad to scroll. But in long work sessions of editing, comparing text in long documents, we lose a lot of time with the jumpy scroll bar. A lot of time, over 8 hours of editing, or in 40 hours of editing. But, since there are no arrows, we just make do. Forgetting to complain.
Even with the scroll and mouse settings at the slowest level possible, the scroll pad jumps a little, or often a lot. It just isn't precise, at all. Which on other features is why we use Adobe, right? And for those of us who compare two documents side by side, lining them up with this Adobe scroll bar is a nightmare, even at the slowest settings.
It's bad. Adobe is wasting a whole lot of our time, of every user. .A lot. Try it, Adobe code writers. Seriously, there may be only seven votes on this ( as of June 2024) but this is for everyone, which is what, a million uses in week, or a day? Adobe code writers should be forced to get on InDesign and use this feature not for 1 minute, but for hours on end, as we have to, with full pages of text or whatever else, or with 2 documents side by side. Try to line them up, and then go to the the next page, make some changes, and then try to line them up exactly, so each full line shows in the screen at magification you need, for 100 pages, for all week, for all year. You'll see how unproductive and aggravating it is..

ugh same here!! I'm used to using arrows to scroll through indesign pages (like Adobe pdf uses!) or Word, Excel, etc.. Please get streamlined and consistent with other programs and learn people's habits before you just take something like this away! We are still on desktops and don't just want to use our finger to scroll everytime. I know you are really wanting to use iPads for design, but hard core designers use desktops and the MOUSE - amazing.

I have the same request -- don't want to upgrade to 2021 version without the arrows, which is getting to be a problem!
