Zoom using only Scroll Wheel / Pan with the middle mouse button
Today, the majority of softwares have a simply rule regarding using a mouse: scroll wheel to zoom in/out and middle button and pan with middle button clicked.
Simply like that.
So why only PS has the option to use the scroll wheel as zoom and the other softwares from the Adobe CC don't?
And why all the softwares in the Adobe CC doesn't the option to use the scroll wheel to zoom without pressing Alt and pan without the need to use the Spacebar.
If those features are implemented, most people that already use Adobe products will love it!

Indesign does not have this option and it is very frustrating.

Also shocked that this is present in other Adobe programs like Illustrator but not InDesign. Would significantly streamline my workflow

I really like this idea. Every cad program I have ever used works this way when editing 2d sketches which is exceptionally similar to editing a 2d layout
EDIT: why have adobe added this setting to only to Illustrator? It's almost like they don't expect anyone to use more than one of their applications and have the navigation remain consistent https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657-illustrator-desktop-feature-requests/suggestions/31672087-zoom-with-scroll-wheel-pan-with-middle-click#comments

All the different all teams need to get on the same page about any features that are shared across adobe apps. This pan/zoom is just one case where illustrator team got it right but shared it with none of the other dev teams

I know this is an old post, but I completely agree!
Why has it not been implemented yet!? -

Agreed! Give us the option.
While we're at it, why aren't simple user interface preferences like this universal across Adobe's apps? This should be available not only in PS, but inDesign, AI, etc.

100% with you! I would like to have that feature because it would improve my productivity within InDesign a lot.

Totally agree, its really annoying.
For example, i's not possible to assign the middle mouse button to the hand tool.
Drives me crazy! every adobe software has its own navigation system ...
