Make PAGE UP and PAGE DOWN keyboard keys maintain consistent position of page in the viewport
If I click the little Previous/Next Page buttons at bottom left of screen, I can cycle through pages, and the position of the page within the window stays the same throughout the process. This is great and very helpful when flipping through a book quickly.
But if hit PAGE UP or PAGE DOWN on the keyboard, it seems to SCROLL the document position up/down by some numerical value, with no regard to the position of the page being displayed.
It would be logical and helpful if PAGE UP and PAGE DOWN had exactly the same effect as the PREVIOUS/NEXT page buttons. Then we could use those keyboard keys to quickly cycle through a document without the page position jumping all around.

Thank you Anonymous August 26, 2019 in advising that Previous Spread and Next Spread can be assigned to Page Up and Page Down. I have been looking for this for ages!
In setting this up I didn't know that in MS Windows Previous Spread and Next Spread are already mapped to Alt Page Up and Alt Page Down.
Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts > Layout Menu > Previous Spread. New Shortcut (press) Page Up keyboard key.
Needs to be assigned to a new Keyboard Set as it cannot be assigned to Default. -

Bravo!!
PgUp and PgDn can operate as expected when mapped to Previous Spread and Next Spread.
Pity that ID doesn't ship with this setting as the default. -

If i want to flip these Pages like Andy W. described it, i´ve got the Problem that it focus on the single Page not on the whole Double Page.

I use to do that with F11 and F12 keys (coming from old Pagemaker) which are mapped to PREVIOUS SHEET and NEXT SHEET.

Yes, so much better now after remapping the keyboard shortcuts, thanks! I still think it should work this way by default to match the behavior of Acrobat, Preview, and pretty much every other program, but no big deal now that I know it's customizable.

I added the Page Up and Page Down buttons to my Keyboard Shortcuts. Haven't had a problem since.

Hold 'option' as you hit 'page up/page down' and this will keep the page view constant while flipping through the document.
