Remove hyperlink:
Remove hyperlink: There is no simple convenient way to remove a hyperlink. When you check, you find, "Edit Hyperlink" or "Go to destination". So, you go to "Edit" and find the hyperlink field, with the only option to delete the hyperlink being the word/letter info of the link that's in the entire field. But then it won't let you do that, saying: "! Invalid Entry". So, you have to reenter the text you had hyperlinked, then delete the text with the hyperlink. Please add a menu line, in both "Text-Hyperlink" and right-mouse-button "Hyperlink" that says and does "Remove Hyperlink", along with "Edit Hyperlink". Thanks!
If you have InDesign CC 2019, when you select a Hyperlink and look in the Properties panel, you will see 3 buttons – ‘Remove Hyperlink’, ‘Edit Hyperlink’ and ‘Manage Hyperlink’.
Remove Hyperlink does what it says – it removes the hyperlink. However, it retains the applied Character Style which can be manually changed by clicking the [None] style in the panel.
Manage Hyperlink opens the Hyperlinks panel (if it’s closed) and Edit Hyperlink lets you edit it.
Hope this helps.

I found the problem - the admin is right BUT you have to have the hyperlink window visible. Otherwise it is impossible.

Same problem here. No "Delete Hyperlink" option as described by Adobe Admin. When I go to edit, I can't even adjust the character style to "None" as the hyperlink was applied to an image instead of text. I just want to delete this hyperlink without deleting images and replacing them. Frustrating!

Agreed, this should be way easier to accomplish for the user.

Yes, this.
It baffles the mind. I've an object to which I accidentally applied a hyperlink. I've yet to find a way to remove the hyperlink. There is no "Delete hyperlink" option anywhere to be seen.
Some guides say Right click -> Hyperlinks -> Edit hyperlink -> Delete, but I say: nope. No such option.
What if, creating an interactive-only .pdf, you'd have an object with a complex text wrap applied to it plus positioning plus other things and you accidentally hyperlink it. Delete the whole thing and start over? Yes. Maybe you don't have a save with the hard work done and no hyperlink mistake made. Maybe you've edited for quite a bit after the mistake and the undo levels just won't do. What then?
I cannot believe this oversight. But, yeah, us humans make mistakes :) That's for sure. Adobe employees and all.

Hello,
I had the same problem. The solutions is pretty simple but a bit tricky to find.Edit Hyperlink > Character style > Style (from list select "None") > Ok
And thats it. it removes hyperlink.
Hope it helped. :) -

Yes, this would be a huge help. It's silly to have to recreate content (images, icons, and text) when instead we should just be able to delete a link.

Yes please! It shouldn't be such a pain to remove a hyperlink from a portion of text.

I second that. Its extremely frustration that there is no easy way to remove hyperlinks. I use it a lot especially in endnotes, and editing the combination of endnotes and hyperlinks is simply too difficult.
