PS: I know I can open the indt and "load object styles" and "text styles", etc separately. What my comment is about is being able to set some preference to have it automatically keep updating the template file from the changes in a document based off the template. It could ask you when saving the document file: "Do you want to update template file with style changes (or whatever else, like layers, etc)?"

Thinking further about my suggestion above, even better (or in addition to) is to have the page number field that the cross reference is to give you show along side the scroll list of paragraph wording. That way, one could at least go directly to the page and reduce the search by clicking on the page field, and then be searching through only those paragraphs on the page. This would be easy to implement, since the page numbers are readily associated with the text field.

If you have InDesign CC 2019, when you select a Hyperlink and look in the Properties panel, you will see 3 buttons – ‘Remove Hyperlink’, ‘Edit Hyperlink’ and ‘Manage Hyperlink’.
Remove Hyperlink does what it says – it removes the hyperlink. However, it retains the applied Character Style which can be manually changed by clicking the [None] style in the panel.
Manage Hyperlink opens the Hyperlinks panel (if it’s closed) and Edit Hyperlink lets you edit it.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the email notice and your helpful solution. Wonderful! Works fine in "Normal" screen mode. I love InDesign!
