Glyphs panel
Is there a way to fix the font selection drop down menu in InDesign so that it does not scroll out of the InDesign UI? I have limited room on my desk to set up my laptop with the second monitor so my laptop is setup in front of the second monitor instead of side-by-side. Unfortunately, this makes it difficult to use the glyphs panel. It scrolls off of the second monitor onto my laptop screen and keeps on going off of my laptop screen. I've attached a screenshot to show what I am referring to.

Option to turn off Export your document to Adobe Express using the option under File > Export to Adobe Express.
I would like to be able to turn off the Blue Popup Boxes that appear when I export pdf files. I have no use for Adobe Express, so telling me about it every time is distracting. Having a checkbox to disable these messages would be handy, or an option in preferences either.

Turn off the "Free Transform Tool"
We should be able to turn off the "Free Transform Tool" so that the "Selection Tool" is the only one used. InDesign auto selects "Free Transform Tool" when I just want the "Selection Tool"!

Preserve the Book panel position on reopening
When reopening a Book, the position and size of the corresponding panel is reset to default.
I would like it would reopen with the same position and size that it had when closing it.
Having to rearrange and reposition it each time is really stressful.

When using Find/Replace, show how many instances were found.
If I'm trying to find something in a document to modify it slightly, I'll use Find to find it. If there's only two instances of the thing occurring, than I can just quickly manually fix it. If there's 200 instances though, then I know I either need to be more specific in my search or start writing some GREP. The problem is that I have no way of knowing how many times the thing I'm looking for occurs, and if it's a lot I would have to click through "Find Next" an unknown number of times. See Page Content Order and Structure Types (as in Acrobat) in InDesign
The InDesign/Acrobat accessible PDF workflow is a nightmare. Fixing reading order and tags in Acrobat is one particularly frustrating aspect of that nightmare.
It would be very helpful – and a major time-saver because of these issues in Acrobat – to be able to see Page Content Order and Structure Types, as displayed in Acrobat when the Reading Order tool is active, in InDesign so that issues can be resolved BEFORE export to interactive PDF.
A much more productive solution would be to have live updates in Acrobat as changes are made in InDesign. I'd be seriously impressed if you…

"Select Fully Enclosed Objects Only" Mode
Subject: Addition of a selection toggle to include only objects entirely within the marquee area.
Problem Statement:
Currently, InDesign’s selection tool (Marquee Selection) selects any object that the selection frame touches (Crossing Selection). In complex layouts with large background elements or overlapping frames, this behavior forces users to constantly lock layers or manually deselect unwanted items, significantly slowing down the workflow.Proposed Solution:

Match Page Navigation When Comparing Two Documents Side-By-Side
It would be helpful if page navigation in one document could be matched in the other when comparing two documents side-by-side, i.e., when comparing two versions of a document.
As it is, it's necessary to navigate, i.e., page-down, in one document then click on the other document and repeat the navigation. As there's no key command to switch tabs/documents/windows either, it's even more unproductive.
Having the option to make the other document in the 2-up arrangement match navigation would improve productivity greatly.

Regression: Inability to cycle through Blend Modes using arrow keys in the Effects Panel
Hi Adobe Team,
I am reporting a significant workflow regression in the InDesign Effects Panel (and Properties Panel) that has persisted into the 2026 versions.The Issue:
In older versions of InDesign, users could click on a Blend Mode (e.g., "Multiply") in the Effects Panel and then use the Up/Down arrow keys to instantly cycle through other modes. Expand Support for Typesetting in Arabic and Other Right-to-Left Languages
My company does a lot of design work that has to do with getting information about public health and safety to audiences for whom English is not a first language. Clear, careful communication of these topics and issues to all people—in their native languages—is essential. It ensures that everyone has the same access to information about their health and well-being.

It would be really useful to have a Locate Object (magnifier glass) at the bottom of the Layes Panel (like we find in Illustrator).

Hanging Punctuation needs to include more characters and be customizable #Optical Margin Alignment
Many people need more characters to hang when Optical Margin Alignment is turned on than what is provided by default. This panel should have settings to customize from the default. The workaround to add a space before the character you want to hang and then adding a huge amount of negative kerning, works, but seriously that's all we've got? Improve links palette to include AI file color information
The Indesign Links palette should show the Adobe Illustrator file document color mode so that I can easily verify that art is CMYK without having to open it in Illustrator. Raster images show RGB, CMYK or Grayscale, but AI files currently give no color information. I understand this might be challenging for EPS or PDF files, but AI files have a Document Color Mode that you must be able to parse from the file.

Turn off blue dots in menu
The blues dots adressing new functions in the menus are distracting. In the preferences menu there could be and option to turn them off.
It's rather annoying for a seasoned pro user to allways have to click the functions to turn the circle off.
However, some circles are permanent. We got blue light random places in the menu. It's bad UX with no possibilities to turn them off. Now the UI is getting cluttered in showing off whats new with dots that will not disappear.

Add the ability to color code window tabs and allow custom tab names that are not linked to the actual file name.

The current window tab design in InDesign can become cluttered, especially when working with multiple files that have long names. The tab size automatically adjusts to the length of the file name, which leads to a cluttered workspace, making it difficult to quickly locate and switch between files.
