An error occurred while saving the comment AfC commentedThis is the bug that does not go away. When it's "fixed", the fix lasts one or two ID updates then it's back again. It can also go away when any one of the other Adobe apps are updated. A very annoying waste of time. AC, Jan 11, 2022

There are many internal as well as external factors that can cause the InDesign application to crash/freeze/hang.
A few workarounds are listed at https://helpx.adobe.com/in/indesign/kb/crash-on-launch.html.
We would recommend you to upgrade to latest version as it is more robust.
If you still face this issue even after updating, please submit the crash report to us. (Guidelines to submit crash are available at https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html)
An error occurred while saving the comment AfC commentedThe 2021 version of inDesign is for me, like for the user above, the buggiest, most crash-prone ever. It crashes on startup, AFTER I quit, during work, in between work, when my Mac wakes... I "love" when Adobe issues "stability improvements". What? Are they trying to catch up to the worse of the now semi-defunct Quark Express racket? I am so disappointed with this version that lately only generates hours of wasted time. Oh, yes, the Suggestions pop up that shows up after each crash: Cute ...but what's the point of it???

An error occurred while saving the comment AfC commentedFontexplorer plugin 3.5.3 not compatible with (full release) ID and all of the other apps CC 2018. No news in their official site as of 10-24-17. Their tech support is silent.
Hello. I am running ID in a 2020 iMac Intel AND and a 2022 M1 Mac; both running Ventura 13.5 with plenty of RAM. This "launch and crash" problem only occurs with ID running on the Intel Mac: Immediately after I updated to ID 18.5 (08/02/23) the app ceases to work. It crashes 100% of the time even after a clean reinstallation... Correction: After reinstallation, the app will run ONCE but not after a quit and re-launch. I've uninstalled and reinstalled twice but the behavior is the same. At this point, ID is effectively disabled on my Intel Mac.
