Thanks for making this request. In order to understand the use-case more better I have a few questions:
1. Whats the role of the different people working collaboratively on the same file. Are they always only designers or are other personas also involved.
2. What are the different kind of files (brochures, books, magazines etc) for which this is required.
3. Where is the file on which these different users need to work together on be placed. Should this be on a cloud server, or a shared server.
4. How do you workaround this need today? What are the most important problems with the current workaround?Olaf supported this idea · -

One more thing: I'd like to be able to specify the object style to apply when I place them. In other words, when I select an image or set of images (or even when I just drag them into ID from a folder), I'd like to be asked what object style to apply. Maybe there could be a check box somewhere in preferences turning this on since not everyone wants to be asked. I'd appreciate it being done in a way that I don't have to go through the import options, especially not for each file. Ideally, it could be a document preference, so for that journal I'd instruct ID that any image imported/placed should have my image object style applied, and any other file format that's imported should have no object style applied.
