When working on a document based on some template, it is often more convenient to alter paragraph styles (object and character styles, equally) in the current document, creating the need to check and evolve the template afterwards.
Luckily InDesign has the function to load styles from another document. This dialogue has some flaws and should be improved:
- Selection: apart from "select all" and "deselect all", there should also be the option to "select modified", that is, only those styles which differ
- definition display:
* these displays are very small and do dot scale with the rest of the window
* they do not scroll in parallel, making a comparison of long settings difficult
