An error occurred while saving the comment Vincenté Wilcox commentedAdding on to this. The file path at the top is truncated so if the file is located on an external drive, buried in a folder, or anywhere except the root of a main drive.
Enlarging the window does NOT expand the file path.
The workaround is to search in the pop over window or Finder for the file as opposed to just navigating to the file.Vincenté Wilcox supported this idea · -

This issue has been fixed in the latest update of InDesign 2022 - version 17.3

Hello All,
Thank you for reporting the issue to us.
We have been able to fix few scenarios but it is till work in progress.
Please upgrade your InDesign application to the latest version to try out the incremental fix.

The Links panel, truncated path name, and ability for Indesign to find links in general is such an issue for me I'm going through and voting for all these issues. We're too far into the development of these programs to have the issue where we can't see the complete path filename unless we hover over it in the Links panel. Which doesn't work once you actually try to relink the file.
I would encourage Adobe to look at Apple's Final Cut Pro for how to best manage and search for links when broken. Unfortunately Aperture lost to Lightroom but that had an excellent file management system and handler of broken links.
