2. Comments in a review are stripped after I upgraded to the latest version of InDesign

   Today I updated InDesign to the latest version (20.0, Windows). A client had left some comments in an online review initiated through the previous version, and now those comments are all stripped from the document when I open it in v20.0.

3. review search

   When sharing a review: On the review web page, there is no longer a possibility to search for text. This makes reviewing long documents with many pages nearly impossible. Reviewers have to manually go through all the pages to find the content that's relevant.

   Until around mid-2024, it was possible to use the browser's search function (CTRL+F). This has been disabled. Even if enforced (entering search through the browser's menu), it does not work.

   To me, having no possibility to search for text in a document that should be reviewed, sounds like a severe, obvious oversight and should be addressed immediately. I only waited a few weeks before posting this here because I thought this had to be a bug that would be fixed anyway.

4. Share for Review strikethrough & replace text from online edits aren't visible in InDesign or online viewer

   Strikethrough & replace text from online comments aren't visible in InDesign or online. the comments are visible although the visual mark up on the page is missing. Ive tested mutliple browsers and all the same.

   Highlighting and draw tool are working correctly.

   Indesign version 19.5. Chrome and Edge browsers.

   This was working as of a couple weeks ago, now is not.

5. Share for review is not working properly

   I've seen other people comment on this, and have had this crash several times in several different docs, but the Share for Review tool in InDesign is basically broken on a regular basis. Update content constantly just gives me a spinning wheel. The image quality is extremely lo res when reviewing (which was "resolved" by an Adobe team member saying "it would slow down load speed" which in this day in age is frankly absurd. Fix your "Share for Review" feature, I've almost lost two clients to it who thought we sent them garbage and who also needed something delivered on time, but I spent a day figuring out how to get the blue spinning update to go away.

6. Share for review comments moved after file update

   Comments are no longer in the correct position after update to INDD file.... I entered a few line returns and replaced a space with a non-breaking space after a few words, going manually through the search and replace. Going backwards with the edits doesn't help.

10. colors desaturating and layer effect discrepancy

    InDesign version 18.4

    Make indesign file with layer effects (multiply, overlay, etc.) in CMYK. Click Share > Send for Review. Result in the browser is desaturated and layer effect is not working as displayed in working file.

    The file that is previewed in Share for Review site is both desaturated and displaying the layer effects differently than my working file. I even exported my working file and it exported as expected. My document is in CMYK as it is a print piece. I have not had trouble with the preview before. It has always displayed accurately in past print pieces.

11. got stuck

    Not an idea, just a problem I have.
    Not sure this is the place to write for a solution
    Working on Adobe InDesign 2022 17.4 MacOS
    Steps to reproduce the issues: command+q
    Expected result: that the software closes. Even if it doesn't save, and will undo everything it did and let me open the file again and work
    Actual result: Shows a message (I've attached a screenshot)
    I waited a few hours
    My computer is boiling and I have a deadline

14. Review Panel

    I'm really enjoying the "Share for Review" feature in InDesign, but I am experiencing some annoying bugs in the Review panel.

    Each time I click on an edit/comment in the Review panel, the program zooms out to fit the whole page in view. Every single time, I have to zoom back in to where I was before so I can get a closer view of what I'm doing.

    Also, the Filter settings keep adjusting without my input. For example, if I apply a proposed edit (like deleting part of a sentence) before marking it as resolved, that comment/edit moves down to an "unmapped comments" section within the panel and it moves my place down to the very bottom of the panel. Each time this happens, I have to reset the filter parameters then scroll back to where I was originally.

    I'd really like to see these issues resolved.

15. Errors when using the Share for Review feature with highlight, strike-through and replace text.

    I have the InDesign v. 18.0
    Everytime I use the Share for Review feature, no matter where I highlight, strike-through or replace the text, the place where I want to make the suggestion is never accurate. If I try to highlight a text, when I see it the InDesign program and click the review in the Review window, it just brings me to a different page. The highlighted text isn't even highlighted at all. Same with strike-through and replace text. Of course, I can see the comment within the Review window, but when I click it, it usually brings up a different page from the one I actually selected for the review. It won't even tell me what text has the review.
    However, the pin feature and draw shape feature work really well. That's why I thought this was a bug. It's just off, not accurate at all but only with those 3 features previously mentioned.
    What I expect from it is that it actually highlights the text with the review (not just bring me to a random space in the doc) or show an actual strike-through or a text replacement icon. Or to, at least, show me the actual text that has a review in general.

    In the screenshot, I'm clicking the "Replace text" ewview and it brings me to that page that only has images. The next page is the one I made the review on. And it won't even show me what line in the text has the review.

16. Share for Review - Interactive PDF 'Jump to Page' feature not working

    Hey,

    I have a contents page in my Interactive PDF, that when you click an item on it, it jumps to the corresponding page in the PDF. However, on the Share to Review site, it jumps to the wrong page - always to the page after the one that it should jump to. When I export the PDF normally, it functions as expected, it is only on the Share to Review site that it doesn't work.

    Was wondering if a fix could be found for this, as we are having to explain this to clients every time we send a PDF out for review!

17. share for review comments are unmapped

    my editors are able to add comments to a share for review pdf in a browser without choosing a tool. they highlight text and add a comment, click submit, and the comments come up as unmapped. i'm on InDesign 17.4.

    i was able to replicate this problem myself by opening the share for review pdf in my browser (both chrome and safari) and adding comments without selecting a tool. there should be a bubble tool or something for general comments. as is, users believe they are leaving comments on specific words.

    expected: users should not be able to highlight text and add a note to it without some sort of mark showing up in the the pdf itself so i can see where the change is supposed to be made. actual: lots of unmapped, useless comments.

18. Share for Review: 404 Error, I'm the owner but receive no access

    I have hundreds of share for review links that all don't work anymore, neither for me nor externals. They all end up at 404. When I open the indd, I get the message that I'm not permitted to create or update a review link because I'm not the owner — I am. I've tried logging out and back in but that didn't help. My indesign is fully up to date at version 17.3.

19. InDesign Share for Review @mentions are not sending emails to the contributors

    People are leaving comments with the @mention option but the @person is not receiving those comments in email so they don't know that the comment was made.

20. Hyperlinks In Document Not Linking Out

    I am working in InDesign 17.3.

    I can create and update the Share for Review link itself but all hyperlinks within the document won't work. The hyperlinks show up as links in the document and online (blue, underline) but when you click on them they don't do anything. You can't right click to get options to open in a new tab or copy the link.

    The links work when you export as a PDF or publish online but not when you do Share for Review.
