Severe InDesign Performance Issues
I’m reporting severe and ongoing performance problems with InDesign that are significantly affecting day-to-day work.
The application has become consistently slow and laggy during normal use — including delays when clicking, saving, zooming, switching pages, placing assets, and general UI responsiveness. At times, even simple actions take several seconds and the software feels almost unusable.
While performance is worse when working from Dropbox-synced folders, the same lag and delays also occur when working with files stored fully locally. This suggests the issue is not limited to cloud storage and may be a broader performance problem within InDesign itself.
This behavior is happening across regular production files and is causing major productivity loss for our workflow.
Please investigate and prioritize improvements to overall performance and stability. InDesign is currently much slower than other Adobe applications and has become difficult to use efficiently.

I've used Adobe products for about 20 years, with all sorts of computers, good and bad, but it has always been a pleasant experience. But since 2-3 years ago, everything changed. I now really struggle on any app really even on top specs computers, in, photoshop, indesign, lightroom but especially Indesign. I have a Dell XPS with RTX 3070 desktop AND XPS RTX 4070 laptop. Both really amazing and new computers. Any other non-adobe software works flawlessly. Tried all the recommendation from Adobe, talked to technicians, still really laggy and worse with each updates...Unsubscribed after many thousand of dollars worth of adobe subscriptions...

Totally feel your frustration we’ve been running into very similar issues lately, even on solid hardware. It’s especially noticeable with larger files or when switching between pages, and the lag just kills the workflow. What’s odd is that other Adobe apps run fine in comparison. I’ve even seen discussions popping up on platforms like https://llmnews.ai/ about general performance drops in creative tools, so it doesn’t seem isolated. Really hope Adobe addresses this soon, because right now it’s slowing everything down way too much.
