InDesign crashes/freezes when closing the application
InDesign freezes when you try to Quit the application. InDesign cannot be quit, it has to Forced Kill.

Many internal as well as external factors can cause the InDesign application to crash/freeze/hang. A few workarounds are listed at Fix crash issues with InDesign.
We completed the investigation and came up with the following: Either the issue has been resolved in the most recent release of InDesign (Refer to InDesign Release notes), the issue was intermittent at the time of reporting and is no longer reproducible, or the InDesign version mentioned in the report is no longer covered by Creative Cloud Support Policy.
We would recommend you upgrade to the latest version as it is more robust. If you are still facing this issue even after updating it, either submit the crash report(Refer to Submitting crash reports) to us or Contact Adobe support.

Adobe Indesign 2025 has now crashed on me twice and I've lost hours of work. Going back to 2024.

When quitting from MacOS Dock (right-mouse click on the icon), Indesign crashes like most of the time.

InDesign regularly freezes (requiring a force quit) when I try to quit the application. This only seems to happen after the machine has been asleep for a while. It doesn't matter if I have a file open or not at the time that I try to quit.
Indesign v16.0 on 11.5 Big Sur.
It quits properly if the machine hasn't been to sleep since launching the app. -

I can end the Indesign process in Task Manager, and then Indesign will open again just fine. Or I can reboot the computer, and again it will open without problems.
