1. InDesign 2020 (15.0)

NOTE: I'm a designer with 22 years experience. I know part of this is 'sloppy' formatting on my part. But since switching to InDesign from QuarkXPress 15 years ago, I've never encountered this 'bug' before.

1. I have a document with multiple 'old' Paragraph Styles. It's a multiple page document. A number of paragraphs have a style applied, but I've overridden them with other formatting.

The easy but lengthy fix would be to fix the Paragraph Style, but I was on a tight deadline.

PROBLEM:
When I try to override the Paragraph Style with other formatting, the Character Palette confirms my change, but the formatting is NOT applied.
