Indesign color separations preview does not work correctly

The preview goes haywire when I turn separations on and off in InDesign. See screengrabs. Is there a workaround? I have ben unable to find one so far - are Adobe just choosing to ignore this issue?

Definitely seems to be a bug in version 17.0 of Indesign, because the older 16.0 works.
Adobe needs to fix this, very annoying.

same problem with MacBook Pro 2019, my old iMac didn't have the issue :(

I'm having this issue too. Big time irritating. Also just started happening when I upgraded to the iMac Retina 5k, 27in, 2019 running 10.15.3 OSx and Version 15.0.1 of InDesign.

This is very annoying.
Turning separations on mucks up the documents view.
scrolling up and down can sometimes fix. this didnt use to happen on older versions
please fix

Try to change the Zoom level and see if that brings back the Text
