locked objects
InDesign CC 2019 14.01, iMac OSx 10.13.6
Serious lag (+10 seconds) and inability to move or edit objects occurs whenever there are locked objects in the layout. I was able to select (after a long delay) but not move or edit a simple text+shape group while I had background and secondary elements locked. Once those were unlocked, the app started to work again as normal.

old problems come back again in InDesign 2022.
I have the same problem on versions 17.0.1 and 17.1. more locked objects on a page more lag.
try creating 100 rectangles on a page and block them all. make one more object and try to select and move it. I wait 5 seconds before I can move it.
the only solutions I've found are:
-unlock all on page
-hide frame edges
-use preview screen mode.if I use version 16.4 the problem is not present.
