Pretty sure I had this issue with a previous version of InDesign, and it went away. Appears to be back again. Perhaps reintroduced with ID 2018? I don't do a lot of printing from ID these days so it's hard to say.

I've just had this with a Xerox Versant 80. All other apps work fine. If I go into the printer's dialog and change settings there, they are not saved. I can click ok, and go immediately back in and they are back to the defaults.
