1. Preferences/Units & Increments/Cursor Key Distance

   Please make this feature faster to change. It is the first preference in Illustrator and I love that. Can you make it the first preference in InDesign? I change this number a lot. Right now I have to hit command k, hit the down arrow five times, tab six times, change the number and hit enter. It wasn't always this hard. It doesn't have to be this hard now. Please fix to make it easier.

2. Data Merge > Create Tagged PDF checkbox

   On Data Marge > Export to PDF just let us select the "Create Tagged PDF".

   For example, I have 1300 records, an 8 page document template and have to export 1300x 8pp uniquely named PDF files - files names from data.

   Currently have to:
   1. run the merge in groups of 100 records otherwise InDesign will hang
   2. create tagged PDFs from the 13x 800pp InDesign files (50 minutes per 100)
   3. combine PDFs
   4. create bookmarks from content
   5. split by bookmark structure

   Points 1, 2 and 3 could be combined by simply allowing "Create Tagged PDF" and save two days work as Data Merge > Export to PDF takes 20 minutes to export ALL the records without hanging.

   On Data Marge > Export to PDF just let us select the "Create Tagged PDF".

3. Exporting seperat images as cropped in page design

   I layout a newspaper. We have several images on each page. Each image is cropped or framed so it fit on the page.

   There is no way to mark 3-4 images on each page and export them as they are cropped/framed - not as the original image is. It's really annoying, because when I want to put the images on the website, the images needs to be cropped the same way as in the articles.

   I would really like this option.

   Now I have to open each photo in photoshop, crop it, and save it. It' s very time consuming.

   Thanks for considering this for the future. I guess many have similar problems.

4. Use regular selection tool with grouped objects

   I would like to be able to select multiple objects within a group using the regular Selection Tool. Currently InDesign only allows me to select 2 items within a group. If I try to select a third object it "exits" the group. The Direct Selection Tool allows me to select multiple grouped objects, but will sometimes select just a vertex or other sub-element of an object. It would be great if the regular selection tool could select as much content within a group as desired. Thanks!

5. Dragon by Nuance to dictate directly into InDesign

   This is an ADA accessibility issue.

   Allow Dragon by Nuance to dictate text directly into InDesign. (Mac, Dragon 6.0.7).

   This is been a constant problem with compatibility between Dragon and InDesign. I've spoken with both companies help departments about this and each blames the other for not being compatible.

   That is where things stood until for different problem I had to have Adobe help via remote access login as root and remove all Adobe installations and files.

   After complete reinstall of Adobe products in design accepted dictation from Dragon for about three days. This to me indicates it is a problem on InDesign side, and that is something that should be easily fixable.

   This is an ADA accessibility issue.

7. Faster way of following hyperlinks

   Make it so Ctrl-clicking a hyperlink (or cross-reference) takes you to the destination instead of having to clumsily open a dialog box, find the link, and push the corresponding button. (Didn't Pagemaker do this long ago?)

8. Custom App Assignment for ‘Edit Original’ in InDesign

   It would be useful to introduce a feature in InDesign that allows assigning specific applications for opening files when using the "Edit Original" command, so that, for example, you can choose Photoshop for .jpg .jpeg .png, Illustrator for .pdf .ai etc...
   In this way, it is possible to keep the most common settings for the operating system, such as opening .jpg files with the Photos app and .pdf files with Acrobat.

   In InDesign there is already the option to assign a keyboard shortcut to start "Edit Original," but not one for "Edit With...," which greatly slows down the workflow.

10. Stop requiring a resave of documents in new InDesign versions

    I would love it if the Adobe team would figure out a way to have new versions of InDeisgn not require a resave of previously created documents. This is probably THE most annoying feature of using this software. It is not user friendly when you have developed a working method on updating documents month to month, only to be prompted to save the file before any other processes can be performed. I can't tell you how many documents I have "Saved" to my desktop when I thought I was exporting them to PDF. Please fix. Annoying!!

11. why can I not snap InDesign using MacOS window snapping features?

    I am unable to snap two adobe products side by side using the new MacOS Sequoia update. I can snap every app on my Macbook except adobe products. as you can see in the screenshot I have snapped my music app window to the right but adobe indesign is unable to snap. Please can you fix this annoying bug?

12. Option to disable the drop shadow in artboard on screen mode "Normal" of the "View" menu

    Please, enable an option to disable the drop shadow on the artboard in 'Normal' screen mode in the 'View' menu (on the right side and in the footer of the artboard/sheet). The shadow makes it very difficult to achieve accurate positioning and alignment of objects. I found several people on Google complaining about the same thing, and there is no solution! The "Preview", "Bleed" and "Spacer" options do not have the shadow, but they also do not display what is on the workspace outside of the artboard/sheet. The "Normal" screen mode has to look like the artboard/sheet in Illustrator. I'm sending a screenshot with the problem marked and another showing how it should look.

15. Integrate Adobe Express/Canva-like features into Indesign

    So Adobe Indesign has some BASIC animations and I feel this is a completely missed opportunity on Adobe's behalf. Apps like Canva have been spreading like wildfire for years and while Adobe has released Express it is a poor cousin. The idea behind Express/Canva is to have an easy-to-create, templated video/animated solution for social media (which let's face it, is mostly video now), yet as a very heavy InDesign user I should be able to animate and export these animations while also taking advantage of the powerful mail merge (text, images, and it really needs to also have swatches), bulk relinking, dynamically updating files features that we all know and love within the adobe suite.

    What I would love to see included in Indesign

    1/ export of animation in mp4 and gif (including transparency) formats.

    2/ Improved Animation (on a page and page transitions)

    3/ Additionally, the use of MOGRTs or being able to make your own custom animations with placeholders would be amazing.

    Why Adobe Express doesn't work

    • Creative Cloud Library files are not dynamic, which means having to upload every single element you want to use (for me that's around about 50 every month - same templated files, different theming).

    • These files are already on my computer and such a waste of time and resources to upload and replace each image when it's already on my computer. I may as well use Canva which has much more variety.

    • Also limited in animations

    Why Photoshop/After Effects/Premiere doesn't work

    • it lacks the ease to mailmerge multiple items so relinking is arduous

    Why in5 doesn't work

    • it's limited (gifs are created by screen recording in your browser so it cannot do transparent gifs)
    • it's expensive and limited

    I know a lot of people think that animation and InDesign are in the past, but if you look at businesses that have basically made a multimillion-dollar business out of that base premise I guarantee you will see they have a bright future together.

    So Adobe Indesign has some BASIC animations and I feel this is a completely missed opportunity on Adobe's behalf.     InDesign Book feature does not support live endnotes. if you are using the InDesign Book feature, you won’t be able to generate a list of live endnotes to place in the back matter of your book.

18. PLEASE PLEASE! Buttons and forms Window

    PLEASE PLEASE!

    The Buttons and forms window is really difficult to work with.
    Can you please enhance its usability?
    Being able to group buttons, reorder buttons in the window would be a massive help.
    Other users have expressed the need to expand the window - this is an absolute must so we can get an overview of the interactivity for each element, right now this is impossible and it takes so much time refining and debugging. Our clients are asking for more interactivity and it would great to be able to do this with the same efficiency as layout in InDesign.
    It would be great to be able to have overlapping hotspots too - if that is indeed possible.

    Please make this a high priority for the next release. Many thanks
