Stop hiding the known issues, and release notes for each release
Where's the link that leads to the latest releases known issues list? It's hard enough to find the release notes for the newest version release.
It should be a simple link right under the is this compatible with your computer info in The creative cloud desktop app.
I need the list of known issues with the latest release to determine whether or not I'm going to upgrade to it or wait until a critical issue is resolved.
Sometimes an issue will not be in the feature I use so I will update other times it is something that will majorly…

PDF comments: Import, respect, and filter against comment colors in InDesign
Please make all of this available in InDesign:
– Show the comment colored in InDesign as it is in Acrobat.
– Let us filter against comment color in InDesign as it is possible in Acrobat.
By default Acrobat comments use different colors. Furthermore the Acrobat user can choose any color for a specific comment or redefine the color for a comment type as he likes to.
In Acrobat I can even filter all comments by comment color.
This is quite useful, as it gives the user a good way to distinguish e.g. between typo corrections, grammatical corrections, and other types.…2 votes -

Exporting Animated Files
Please make exporting animation files accessible again. Various formats to save animation files would be good, too. Thank you.

Consistent asterisk use for unsaved files
Would be nice to keep the asterisk for unsaved files consistent across Adobe apps: in Indesign the asterisk is IN FRONT of the filename, in Illustrator and Photoshop it's AT THE BACK.
I sometimes think I've overwritten a file just because the asterisk isn't where I expect it to be :(2 votes -
Long, NOT complicated, password requirements
Can you please stop asking me to write password with ridiculously complicate rules to try and make them more secure?! What's more is you force people to use something they have never used before as a password every time it gets re-set. What you have to remember is that REAL PEOPLE with REAL WORKING BRAINS need to be able to actually REMEMBER their password. Rather than spending 10-15 minutes every time they need to login to an application/ server re-setting their password because they can't remember it, how about you just make them use a long, random collection of words,…

Under "help" there shod be an option to click on a question mark, and then to click anywhere with it
Under "help" there shod be an option to click on a question mark, and then to click anywhere within the inDesign program, and it will give you a basic explanation of that feature/tool and what it is used for.

Export the data of forms not just by email
Currently when you fill a .pdf document with forms created by Adobe Indesign CC (or Acrobat PRO DC) the just possibility to send the data is using a email client (outlook, thunderbird, ...) or sending this document in attachement of an email.
It would be interesting to using an other solution because fewer and fewer users use email client... and used an attachement is less "user friendly".
I think it would be possible to send the data using an interface or an bridge... for example a specific site (creativecloud.adobe.com ?) that would store the data directly using a URI : …

Indesign Lite
Comment - Adobe should come out with InDesign Lite - sell it like Photoshop Elements - NOT A SUBSCRIPTION. I don't need or want all the bells and whistles of Indesign - give me Lite! Becoming an issue because of the new Mac update to Catalina won't support earlier Indesign. Moving to open source alternatives.

Keep non printing elements visible on screen
A lot of documents I create, are for both printing and onscreen publishing (.pdf). In the .pdf's, I like to add a divider to spreads, to make clear that two pages are show. When setting the 'Non Printing' Attribute for this divider, it dissappears on screen. Maybe ther should be an 'Invisible' check box for that, and a 'Non Printing' option for objects that are visible, but do not print.

Default cross-reference parameters
I would like to able to globally set my parameters for cross references and have these default parameters be retained for all documents that I open/ create. For example, ALWAYS open as Paragraph Numbers, ALWAYS open as Visible Rectangle, etc., etc., for all available parameters... and not revert to InDesign's defaults.

Grep panel
Please create a palette for grep (like paragraph or character style). For example to add various style to single grep. Also add the option to link to grep non only character style, but also paragraph style and object style. Example: use a grep to find a text and formatting the text box. Thanks

Create index subentry structures with a drag-and-drop feature in the index window
It would be very useful if InDesign could convert the mouse pointer into a hand pointer when hovering over the index entries displayed in the index window so that the user can manually grab and move selected index entries under other entries—and thus create faster subentry structures.

InDesign CC 2019, eGPU enablement on Mac
There is no eGPU enablement with Indesign!
Illustrator will work with eGPU, Photoshop will, but Indesign will nor recognize an eGPU which will slow down every design process. Please add instant eGPU support.

Search like in Microsoft Word
Microsoft Word's current search feature is much more powerful than InDesign's. You just type in a word and it searches for it. You don't have to pick forwards or backwards, you can see the matches in the search pane in context… lots of other ways it's better than InDesign's search. Not sure how much of that is covered by patents, but the more you can emulate MS Word's search ease of use, the better.
