The idea would require InDesign treats alternate layouts like normal Pages in a document so when I duplicate the page it creates all the additional alternate layouts for the new page.

The links for the new Alternate pages would not link to the original page it was copied from, but the links across the new alternate page will still be linked.

It would also allow you to move the pages up and down the document and keep all the alternate layouts together.

This would make alternate layouts much more usable.

I currently have a template setup with a range of alternate layouts for different social media platforms, however I can't duplicate the pages with alternate layouts already setup, I either have to start from scratch each alternate layout, Create a document with excess pages linked to alternate layout that I can be deleted if not required, or have multiple individual documents for one project for different mock-ups
