Need MORE features in InDesign's FORM tools.
We need more controls in InDesign's FORMS tools.
Although this was requested in https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601021-adobe-indesign-feature-requests/suggestions/20482882-more-options-when-creating-forms-via-indesign, it was closed after font controls were added.
That's Not Enough! In fact, it's probably the least needed form feature of all.
The short list of what's needed:
— Add calculations and formula to a form field.
— Add JavaScripts and other programming to a form field.
— Color the background fill of a form field...and have it "stick" in the PDF, not be overridden by the user's Acrobat settings.
— When using tables to create a matrix of form fields for layout purposes, we have the option to set the table to Artifact, AND keep the content in the cells in tact as live tagged text and form fields. Sometimes a layout table is needed to lay out a complex form, but the table structure itself (<Table> <TR> <TD> etc.) is not needed. Especially critical for accessible PDF forms. Give me an option to select the entire table and set the table structure to be artifacted.
— When creating form fields that become a matrix of form fields (example, an expense report), give me a tool to automatically fill the cells (all of them or individually selected cells) with a form field. Right now, must select each cell individually, right click, and change it to a graphic cell, AND then convert each one of those, one by one, to a form field. SO much work when creating a full-page or multi-page form. Hundreds of repeated steps!
