Deleting unused paragraph styles in one fell swoop
I highly recommend that Adobe updates a feature to delete all unused paragraph styles in one fell swoop instead of a file by file case.

#same when I do a find/replace on all docs in a book, to remove all unused styles, it leaves them in every doc even if I resync with style source. 44 chapters in my book means deleting 40 some styles in EVERY DOC. Ugh. Why do I care if they are there? Besides having to scroll past them to get to the "real" styles...they have a HUGE effect on performance...every "if indesign is slow" forum/help question says "reduce the # of styles you have"...so we need help doing this!!

Additionally, have this option available at the book level. If a style is used /anywhere/ in my book, I want to keep it, but if a style isn't in use in any of my book documents, then I'd like to delete it.

You should be able to choose "Select All Unused" in the Paragraph Styles panel's options menu and click the trash can to delete.
