I second this. We either have to Save As every time we Save, or never close the book/docs. Google Docs has this simple feature, shouldn't InDesign?

PS We would have to pay $15 to get this feature as an add-on/plug in when it's already in every other publishing type program on the market.

I somehow deleted pages from my document, saved it, closed it. The Revert should allow me to see/recover my file before I deleted those pages, right? It's grayed out. If it has some other reason for being grayed out, then this is not a bug but a feature request, I guess. I need it to work like Google Docs "Previous Versions" does. We all need this. We shouldn't have to buy a $15 add on to get a critical feature Google Docs has?

Same bug ID 2023 (Nov 1 2022), Even page, variables in footer box: page # variable + variable 2 (section #) work, but variable 3 (section name) doesn't. It DOES work on another parent page (also even page), just not this one. I can pm info if needed. I am going to try to recreate this parent page to see if I can get it working. But none of the workarounds I've tried have worked so far. SO frustrating wasting time on this.

This also goes along with being able to DELETE styles for all docs in a book. The sync only adds what's in style source, the docs with extras keep those extras. We need the option to keep or delete the ones in the other docs (non-style source docs).

#same when I do a find/replace on all docs in a book, to remove all unused styles, it leaves them in every doc even if I resync with style source. 44 chapters in my book means deleting 40 some styles in EVERY DOC. Ugh. Why do I care if they are there? Besides having to scroll past them to get to the "real" styles...they have a HUGE effect on performance...every "if indesign is slow" forum/help question says "reduce the # of styles you have"...so we need help doing this!!

When I do a find/replace para styles in all book docs, including parent pages, it does NOT remove the old style from the doc. further, it actually doesn't even replace all of them. So, the only way we can delete those unused files is manually in EVERY doc...my book has 44 chapters. If I delete them from the style source and sync, it still doesn't delete them from the para styles section of the 43 other docs in the book. It SHOULD delete them. If one is used (despite the fact that I did a find/replace on ALL docs in book), it should ask me what I want to replace it with.
